You think they didn't? They stole a $5,500 checking account of mine shortly after Lehman Bros. went under. Told me I'd requested a new debit card and they sent it. I hadn't. My password was disabled. I didn't make anything of it until my statement at the end of the month. I called the County Attorney's office and they said they'd look into it since I knew him. They called back two days later and Chase claimed my account information was "proprietary" and told them to buzz off. So I called the FBI....two days later they called and said they couldn't get involved until the county attorney invited them in. He couldn't because he couldn't get any information from Chase. I went down to my branch hopping mad and they had the security guard (off-duty Phoenix PD) escort me out. I never saw a penny of that money again.
