BAGHDAD — The jailed journalist who threw his shoes at U.S. President George W. Bush has asked for a pardon, a spokesman for Iraq's prime minister said Thursday.

In a letter delivered to Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, the journalist described his behavior as "an ugly act" and asked to be pardoned, spokesman Yassin Majid told The Associated Press.

Majid confirmed to Fox News that Muntadhar al-Zeidi has asked the Iraqi president for a pardon, and expressed "regret and sorrow" for his behavior

:lol::lol:

Did they also mention that before he asked for forgiveness he begged:

Don't Tase me, Bro

Funny how he'd never have dreamed of doing that before the ugly imperialistic Americans gave hime some freedom. Saddam would have had his head on a stick before the sun set if he'd have tried that under his watch.

He has to feel like a fool. He was that close, got two tosses and the ole Evil American was too fast, both times. lol .......... Kind of like the nerd at the county fair who could never dunk the jock who teases him daily, into the water.

I'd like to see Bush take up his cause. After all, he did make the comment that the man was living in a democracy and could engage in this type of behavior.

he shouldn't have yelled God is Great or something about a dog before he lept up and threw the shoes at Bush. He should've just thrown them when Bush wasn't looking. If Bush's nose would've been broken, the Arab world would've LOVED it.

They should let him out. As bad as his throwing arm is, the Raiders might want to look at him for QB.

He already gave the idiot freedom once, he's not obligated to do it a second time,, and if Bush had thrown the shoe you damn sure wouldn't be so generous.

Yes and it is important that the Arabs are happy.

The guy is lucky they didn't shoot him while he was throwing shoes.

I'm betting this is the deal he's been told to take .. which will allow the Iraqi government to back out of this without further enflaming to population .. and the rest of the arab world.

Funny how he'd never have dreamed of doing that before the ugly imperialistic Americans gave hime some freedom. Saddam would have had his head on a stick before the sun set if he'd have tried that under his watch.

And just think .. all it cost was hundreds of thousands of dead innocent Iraqis, three trillion US taxpayer dollars, more than 4200 dead US soldiers, more than 30,000 wounded and maimed US soldiers, and the loss of American influence, power, respect. and stature all over the world.

,,, just so he could then throw a shoe at the man who made all that possible.

What a deal.

Um...it's a shoe, actually two shoes, and he missed. If Bush had thrown his shoes, I'd be making fun of Bush, after all he is the POTUS. This guy is just a stupid journalist. Give him a break. Actually from some reports he's already had several breaks (bones), I think he's suffered enough.

The 'arab world' is not enflamed, just the normal crew who never have a good word for the USA.

Here's a tip .. if you want to know anything about the arab world, don't look for it in American press.

Arab world lauds Iraqi TV journalist’ shoe-hurling at Bush

BAGHDAD: The Iraqi television journalist who hurled his shoes at visiting US President George W. Bush in Baghdad on Sunday, is being feted around the Arab world for having the courage to showcase the rage in the region over a war that is still regarded as unpopular.

President Bush, on a surprise trip to Iraq and Afghanistan, got a taste of dissent at a Baghdad press event on Sunday when an Iraqi journalist threw shoes at him, forcing him to duck.

In Saudi Arabia, a newspaper reported that a man had offered 10 million dollars to buy just one of what has almost certainly become the world’s most famous pair of black dress shoes.

A daughter of Colonel Muammar el-Qaddafi, the Libyan leader, reportedly awarded the shoe thrower, Muntader al-Zaidi, a 29-year-old journalist, a medal of courage.

According to the New York Times, in Sadr City, people calling for an immediate American withdrawal removed their footwear and placed the shoes and sandals at the end of long poles, waving them high in the air. And in the southern Iraqi city of Najaf, people threw their shoes at a passing American convoy.

In street-corner conversations, on television and in Internet chat rooms, the subject of shoes was inescapable throughout much of the Middle East on Monday, as was the defiant act that inspired the interest: a huge and spontaneous eruption of anger at President Bush on Sunday in his final visit here.

Now if this guy ends up dead or tortured .. would the arab world be enflamed?

Do you think that anger would be in the best interest of the Iraqi government or US forces still stuck there?

Exactly, now the greedy bastard wants a pardon!

I still say let him scrape horse and cow shit off boots in Crawford for a month!
