Joseph, Mary's husband, was "90 years old" when he married 12 to 14-year old Mary!Was he too a pedophile?


The case of Mary the mother of Jesus comes to mind, in non biblical sources she was between 11-14 years old when she conceived Jesus. Mary had already been "BETROTHED" to Joseph before conceiving Jesus. Joseph was a much older man. therefore Mary was younger than 11-14 years of age when she was "BETHROED" to Joseph. We Muslims would never call Joseph a Child Molester, nor would we refer to the "Holy Ghost" of the Bible, that "Impregnated" Mary as a "Rapist" or "Adulterer".

According to the "Oxford Dictionary Bible" commentary, Mary (peace be upon her) was was 12 years old when she became impregnated.

Joseph was not 90 years old. He was a working man, a carpenter, so he would have to be working age. Most bible scholars estimate he was 30-40 years old.

BUT, the problem with your theory is that it doesn't matter how old Joseph was because Mary was still a virgin when she gave birth. Therefore, this pile of BS means nothing.

The bible never says that he had biological brothers or not.

And Jesus called many other men his brother.

The Catholic Church, the largest Christian denomination in the world, say Mary never had sex after Jesus's birth and he had no siblings.

Most Bible scholars agree that Mary was 13 or 14 years old when she got married.

This was the standard marriage age for young girls in that day.

Which means that she was most likely 11 or 12, or even younger, when she was engaged to be married.

Again, that was normal for middle eastern culture during the time of Jesus.
