It's no surprise that the Libertarian Party will have a candidate for President (as a few of the other third parties will as well), it's all a matter of how successful Gary Johnson will be, if he even gets the nomination. The last LP candidate to crack 1% was in 1980 (Ed Clark, 921,128 votes, 1.1%, 0 electoral votes), and candidates since then have been David Bergland, Ron Paul, Andre Marrou, Harry Browne (twice), Michael Badnarik, and Bob Barr.

Johnson has been running for president on the Republican ticket since April…

And hardly anyone noticed.

Otherwise this will give those who can’t abide Romney an option.
