I think the Left however is definitely losing its grip on the culture in that the entities you mention have lost a LOT of credibility. Box office sales are down, the media is tanking in both print and broadcast, and no one trust universities to do just about anything right. And I'm not talking just conservatives--except Leftists themselves, the distrust seems to be across the board.

I also see it in my own kids, who are in their very early 20s. Neither one wants anything to do with far Leftism. Now granted they were raised in a conservative home, there is that. But one of them started off veering Left, got a good look at it in college and saw it for the nonsense it is. She now describes herself a "moderate".

Don't underestimate the power of group think. Same basic reason Peter denied 3 times and he saw Him and actually witnessed it. Unlike us.

Put a person in a group and that person is more prone to go along with group think regardless of what their lying eyes are telling them.

That reality has not been lost on our educated politicians for quite some time. They PROUDLY LIE and do whatever to achieve their goal to fulfill their agenda. There are less people living in poverty than ever before in history. That’s just a fact. It seems that the highest standard of living is in the most free market economies. And remember Sweden is actually more free market than America in many ways. Things could be better yes.

Cuba trade embargoes are a straw man argument. It doesn’t change the overwhelming evidence that the highest standards of living for the most people are in the most free market economies irregardless of whether Cuba would’ve done better w out embargoes.
