Republican Rep. Joe Wilson proposed an amendment Wednesday that would force all members of Congress to receive health insurance coverage through the government-run plan proposed in the House's reform bill.

Though Republicans oppose the so-called "public option," the South Carolina gadfly -- who gained notoriety for shouting "you lie" at President Obama during his address to Congress two months ago -- is proposing the requirement to draw attention to what he sees as the plan's flaws.

"They know the government-run option will not be in the interest of the American people, either individually or for the American citizens at large," Wilson said Wednesday, arguing that's the reason Congress does not require its members to sign up.

I don't have a problmen with that. If it's such a damn good deal the demoncwats should be the first in line to get it. True?

What a fucking moron. Good luck in your re-election bid, Joe....

does this mean you think the democongresscrats should not get what they propose for the rest of us? how elite of you. hypocrite

What the hell are you talking about????????? :cuckoo::cuckoo::cuckoo::cuckoo:

The voters will love this guy....

What this shows is the low level of understanding these twits have on what is being proposed. Since NO ONE would be forced to join the Federal Public Option, why the hell would this moron Wilson propose that all of Congress be forced to enroll in it?

Yes, because as we all know, Congress votes on who all the other members are. Congress with the lowest approval rating of, well, jsut about anything, is a great target in this case. What you worried about VaYank5150? Afraid Congress members will point out the problems with the plan?

They don't have to get the plan VaYank5150. They can just pay the fine. :eusa_whistle:

For a few years, anyways.

You can make assumptions all day long. However, since you have absolutely NO concrete data to support these assumptions, why would Wilson, a Senator, make such a stupid move?

Dumbass.... Think about it.... Employers will stop providing insurance for their employees when they know the Government will provide it.... So you either use the Government public option or nothing.... I thought this was common sense.... Maybe this is why our nation is so f'd up...because people aren't smart enough to figure things like this out....

Sure we won't be forced to sign up for up but we sure as hell will be forced to pay for it!!!!!! Why is this so hard to understand??????:cuckoo:

So what you are afraid of is that the Government would do such a fantastic job in the Insurance business that everyone will love it too much

Whats so bad about people saving money?

Oh, yes, I forgot...........when you do something to help the rich that is called stimulating the economy

When you do something to help working Americans, it is called Socialism

Seriously, there are few better ways to understand the problems with government run health care or Social Security that to have the benefit. Congress has excluded themselves from both of these programs. Why? Because their's is better. Way better.

While I accept the fact that you are trying to be cute here, but you alos re-emphasize your complete lack of understanding of the subject matter. Those who can afford health insurance and choose not to buy it will pay a fine. You should know that ALL of our Congress men and women can afford health insurance.

As is mine. What is your point?

Do you feel Congress should be exempted from the laws they pass as a general rule?

Absolutely not. How are they exmpting themselves on this issue?

Absolutely not. How are they exmpting themselves on this issue?

1. Set up a completely separate pension plan for themselves.
2. Don't pay into Social Security.
3. Have a completely separate health care plan.
4. Are setting up a new government plan that they personally don't want.

Rep. Wilson is just attempting to hold Congress up to the system they think we should have. If it indeed saves money, then it is good they help us save. If it gives access to quality health care they should want it too. Tap dance your way through. Most will see through you.

Congress opts out of social security, and now wants to create a government health care system that will lead to all of us ending up there except them and you don't get it?
What part of Congress needs to eat what it kills don't you get?

I want congress to have EXACTLY the same programs that we do, especially SS, Medicare, and healthcare. Not lavish high-end Cadillac plans. Joe Wilson is moving up the pecking order rapidly.....
