Hating Hatters
The most recent atrocity committed by the self-proclaimed "America's Toughest Sheriff" involves a woman who was detained while 9-months pregnant. Alma Minerva Chacon's case has been receiving media attention due to the brutality with which she was treated. The very same night of her arrest, Chacon went into labor and found herself afraid and alone, being rushed to a local hospital with her hands and legs chained in shackles.

Once she reached the hospital, nurses repeatedly begged the Sheriff's staff to allow them to unchain the mother, but they refused and Chacon was forced to give birth while still shackled to the bed. At one point, the nurse asked for them to release her so that she could be escorted to the bathroom for a urinalysis, but even that request was denied. But the worst came once Chacon gave birth to her baby girl.

They shouldn't have let her remained shackled during labor and delivery and they should have let her hold her baby. That's just wrong.

Was she in the country illegally? If so, two days recovery then back to Mexico you go.

She was in the country illegal around the time she was set to give birth, so her child would be a US citizen and receive free healthcare on the tax payers dime.

I am getting sick and tired of people jumping all over BRAVE, COURAGOUS and PARTRIOTIC Joe Apiro! Granted shackling the woman was beyond excessive! But he is a patriot standing up agains the illegal immigrant juggeranut!

While it is true she isn't a legal resident, she's been in the country since she was sixteen.

Mistreating people isn't patriotism, twit. And it certainly isn't brave or courageous to force a woman to give birth in this manner.

what joe did was WRONG in this case, there is no dancing around that....whether she was illegal or not.

What he did is wrong no doubt, but he is one of the few police officers trying to uphold immigration laws, yet the left loves vilifying him!

I want proof that this actually happened.....prove it. I want to hear the otherside of this story.

Two days? Are you going soft Zoom?

where's the proof!!! I want to see it, hear it, read it!!!!!!!!!! These people would throw their mother under the bus to smear arpaio - they will lie, cheat, cry to become the victims.

If she hadn't broken our laws, she would not have been shackled. To be honest, I don't really care very much about her discomfort. Send her, and her anchor baby back to whereever they come from.

I wonder if he would have kept shakled a white woman who had been arrested for shoplifting?
