Joe B rates the Democratic Field

So far the only thing they all seem to have much going for them in s they are trying to buy votes with no idea how to pay. So that means promise now forget later.
Reparations, Medicare for all, tear down the border fences, new green deal and all the rest.

Add to that the democrats already in congress talking impeach, investigate. True if those in congress do not investigate and harass they will upset their rabid base so the old guard needs them to stay in.
If they continue independents will see it for the sour grapes it is and feel sorry for Trump. We could very well be seeing the last time democrats will have any power in the White House, senate majority r House of Representatives for many years.

You work on the assumption that independents (do we still have that many of those) look at the daily crazy coming out of the White House and want four more years of that.

Here's the thing... when a Fox News Audience told Bernie that they were okay with Medicare for All, that kind of tells me that this isn't as complicated as you like to think it is.
No I am working on the assumption that so many yelled that the economy would collapse under Trump. It still continues and may increase in a large jump if an agreement is accomplished before the elections. I am working off the assumption that the democrats yelled there is no crisis at the border while sane people were informing people otherwise.
I am working on the assumption that people do not like the idea of guns being sold to drug cartels or that they did not mind 44 doing nothing about Russia being involved in our elections. But that could just be my understanding of the average American.

I think you missed the fact that this was a Bernie Sanders rally telecast by Fox News. So this was an audience that was already inclined to like what Bernie stood for. He was given such softball questions as to be absolutely rediculous. No one asked how he planed to pay for his great plan. No one asked about his workers being required to be in a union idea. Let's face it if you don't realize that Medicare for all could cost 3.2 trillion up to 5 trillion a year and the federal government only brought in 3.2 trillion in taxes in 2016. If you do not realize the problems that Great Britain are having with their system. Then you really do not understand enough to talk intelligently about the subject

If the media would lay off Trump a bit his approval numbers would easily be much higher then reported. And we really do not know if the numbers reported are real anyway.

Yeah,we kind of do... If anything, they are probably generous.
You guys are sure ticked off. Imagine how pizzedyou would be if he was as far to the other side in politics as you are. Or Obama . Or the now open to telling everyone Progs admitting to be socialists and even communists. I guess they won't run on the moderate spiel crap anymore.

Okay, here's where I see them. Want to make a Caveat that any of these guys would be a vast improvement over Trump.

Joe Biden- My biggest concern about Biden is his age. He'll be 76 if sworn in 2021. I think we can already see the folly of electing Septuagenarians. Reagan was clearly senile at the end of his Presidency, and Trump shows all the signs of dementia. All that said, he's probably the most clearly qualified person the Democrats have in terms of resume.

Bernie Sanders - This guy is a waste. Yes, he has some okay ideas, like Medicare for All, but frankly, he's way too far off to the left. He'll scare the straights. Also- 78 if elected? Really?

Beto O'Rourke- I kind of like this guy. He's young, he's dynamic. He fought Ted Cruz to a draw in Texas with the GOP throwing everything they had at him. A pity he doesn't have more experience.

Kirstin Gillibrand- Can't really forgive her for throwing Al Franken under the bus the way she did.

Liz Warren - Lots of good ideas, but she pretty much self-immolated on that Native American thing.

Pete Buttigeig - Sorry, being mayor of the fourth biggest city in Indiana just doesn't qualify you.
What on earth makes you think your opinion on politicians means squat ti anyone but you?

thAnk you,you just spoke for the ENTIRE BOARD of USMB.

Why should they? Here's the thing. Moderates never win. Hillary was a moderate. Romney was a moderate. McCain was a moderate. Gore was a moderate. Kerry tried to pretend to be a moderate, then someone found a picture of him hanging with Jane Fonda.

There is really no good reason to run a moderate against Trump.

If the Democrats want to win they should get someone who clearly stands for something.

Now, all that said, I think Bernie is too far to the crazy left, but under the right circumstances, he could win. If the economy tanks, and Trump continues to act as erratically as he has, Bernie might seem plausible.

What about Kamala Harris?

What about her?
What’s your opinion of her?

Meh... not much.
Biden probably has the best shot to beat trump, but now with the creepy stuff coming out (already been out but left is now acknowledging), I don’t see how he survives trump telling him to go sniff some girls hair in a debate. He could say go grab a pussy, but Biden’s stuff is on camera, all over the place. Bernie is probably gonna get the plurality of the vote, but dem establishment is planning on fighting. That fight alone is gonna piss off bernie bros who could very well choose to sit out for the actual election.

Harris could win it on paper at least with her intersectionality cred. But idk she seems to be a black version of Hillary. Not a lot of charisma there.

Beto, now that he’s actually more comprehensive coverage that’s not just “yay beto beat Cruz!”, People are actually hearing him speak. He comes off as inauthentic, stale, and just kind of a poser. Polls are reflecting that. I think he’s dead in the water.

Schultz would be the best shot to beat trump, if the bernie bros weren’t so die hard. If the dems were paying attention to what did well in the 2018 election, it was all the candidates who ran on moderate platforms. I think Schultz would trounce trump, but the establishment left and the voting base is vehemently attacking him.

Gotta say joe, not looking good for your party

Spill your meds on the bathroom floor again?

There is NOTHING to be said for Ignorance. Here's a guy who took (some of) the early candidates and analyzed them, for discussion. So what? I do the same thing; it helps collect one's thoughts.

A clue for the Cult of Ignorance --- if it's something you don't find helpful, get your teacher to show you how to change the frickin' channel and quit whining "waaah, they're thinking, make them STOP!". Capice?

If more people actually put thought into this shit instead of just parroting tribal scripts, we'd have less garbage in garbage out in the election process.

I can't see Commie Bernie getting much more than the 25% he's getting now. The real question is, do the Dems rally around Biden, or do they find someone else. Historically, the Democrats do pick that "Fresh new thing" at the back of the room - Carter, Clinton, Obama. this is kind of why I think Beto is the one to keep an eye on.

I do think Biden is another victim of the PoundMeToo insanity. I have nothing but contempt for the #MeToo movement, it reminds me of LBJ's remark that the difference between liberals and cannibals is cannibals don't eat their friends. Hopefully, we'll be over this insanity by the time next year rolls around.

Progs up to Obama ran as moderate then moved far left. It almost destroyed Clinton after his first two years in office. And Obama should have been a one termer. But his skin color got him reelected. McCain was a RINO. One of many buffer zones for Prog policies to at least be kept active when Repubs were in power. Romney is near McCain in many ways. Him and Trump are both rich men. But Romney speaks like a main line blue blood who threw the 2012 election. Trump is not a conservative. Most of his agendas are for most of the citizens. Unfortunately the Prog party with parts of the Repub party have rebuffed him. They sure do not like an outsider in power.

guy, this racist as shit country electing a black man was a miracle... probably wouldn't have happened if the Republicans hadn't fucked up the economy as bad as they did.

If anything, Obama governed as a lot more moderate than he ran as.

McCain was a RINO. One of many buffer zones for Prog policies to at least be kept active when Repubs were in power. Romney is near McCain in many ways. Him and Trump are both rich men.

Besides your atrocious grammar, the real problem is that McCain and Romney are actually sane conservatives, but when you realize that most conservative economic ideas don't work, all you have left is the racism, the homophobia and the misogyny.

Trump is not a conservative. Most of his agendas are for most of the citizens. Unfortunately the Prog party with parts of the Repub party have rebuffed him. They sure do not like an outsider in power.

Quite the contrary, the Republicans know that Trump is totally unfit for office. The question is, how do you remove a crazy person from office? We have the legal mechanisms (Impeachment, the 25th Amendment) but not the political will.

I don’t think so about Beto, he’s already given two terrible answers to two different public challenges this week alone. They were cringeworthy. You had the student challenge him on his lack of charitable giving, his answer was basically I’m here and am running for public office, that’s my charity. Yesterday, I think, another voter just challenged him on his lie that he wouldn’t take any donations from the oil industry, which now his stance is he’s not going to ignore an entire industry. He’s just not adept at maneuvering politically enough. Those were challenges from his supporters, what happens when it’s hard hitting challenges from an opponent.

Idk I might be wrong but we’ll see

Bernie is not a "commie" any more than freaking Denmark is-- he's a Democratic Socialist, a characterization co-populated by the likes of Willy Brandt, Nelson Mandela, Jawaharlal Nehru, Jeremy Corbyn, David Ben-Gurion, François Mitterand, Bertrand Russell, Helen Keller, Roger Waters, MLK, George Orwell, Mahatma Ghandi, Albert Einstein, Christopher Hitchens, and the current PM of New Zealand in the news recently, Jacinda Ardern.

Also notably Tommy Douglas, who got Canadian universal health care started.

Conflating different terms is dishonest and counterproductive, and serves only to foster ignorance. Intentionally misrepresenting your own (itself incomplete) list erodes whatever claims of objectivity you thought you came in with.

It's interesting, in a psychology kind of way, that when I post about political labels and logic, what you think of is "masturbation".

You might wanna get that looked at.

I know that's what you wish... but frankly, anyone would be more articulate than Trump. Trump isn't going to get the kind of passes he got in 2016.
