Jobs for Dems? Outlook is very good for 12,000 to 21,000 new jobs at just one plant

I swear to Gawd, there is something wrong with you.
Did you read the article?:

"Once the facts of this case are thoroughly and fairly reviewed,"

It's still under review.

Are the choices, "Kill all the wild life or not"? If those are the choices, then they're the wrong choices. There will be a way to cool the plants and save the wildlife.

That's the problem with those on the right. They live with two choices only. This or that, right or wrong, black or white.

The problem with "extremes" is they are usually both wrong. There is nothing wrong with "study" and figuring out how to solve a problem. We just got over 8 years of mindlessly rushing into situations and making things worse.

Hey you fucking retard the NYS DEC denied their license!

"If the company fails to win the argument, the future of creating electricity at the Buchanan site could end as early as 2015."

They have to get it back!

That's 5 years away. They have time to figure out and implement a solution. Building a whole new plant from scratch takes 10 years. No one is going to turn off power in New York.

Then there is the possibility of 5 years of panic and terror.
Nuh uh! Peak oilers believe we're out of fuel in like 48 hours. We don't have 5 years according to those Chicken Littles.

US military warns oil output may dip causing massive shortages by 2015 | Business | The Guardian

The US military has warned that surplus oil production capacity could disappear within two years and there could be serious shortages by 2015 with a significant economic and political impact.

The energy crisis outlined in a Joint Operating Environment report from the US Joint Forces Command, comes as the price of petrol in Britain reaches record levels and the cost of crude is predicted to soon top $100 a barrel.

"By 2012, surplus oil production capacity could entirely disappear, and as early as 2015, the shortfall in output could reach nearly 10 million barrels per day," says the report, which has a foreword by a senior commander, General James N Mattis.

It adds: "While it is difficult to predict precisely what economic, political, and strategic effects such a shortfall might produce, it surely would reduce the prospects for growth in both the developing and developed worlds. Such an economic slowdown would exacerbate other unresolved tensions, push fragile and failing states further down the path toward collapse, and perhaps have serious economic impact on both China and India."

Why don't Blue states advocate nuclear power? NYS wants to shutdown the one that provides 1/3 of NYcity's power.

For "Smart" people Dems are really fucking retards

What is the "life expectancy" of a nuclear power plant? None have been built for thirty years. I didn't see your "link" that gave a reason. Did you forget to post it?

I didn't forget, I've been living with the Liberal Fucking retardness as long as I can tolerate and we're selling and moving next Spring!

"The appeal to the Department of Environmental Conservation's judges comes after an April 2 decision from the agency's staff that the two working plants in Buchanan have harmed shortnose and Atlantic sturgeon by trapping them against screens or killing them as they are drawn in with the 2.5 billion gallons of river water Indian Point uses every day to cool its operations."

Indian Point appeals ruling on Hudson water use | LoHud.com | The Journal News

If Indian Point goes dark, Westchester County and NY City will start morphing into Detroit

Obama wants to punish Wall Street and Dems want to cut our energy supply.

Democrats really need to start thinking about forming their own country

Democrats really need to start thinking about forming their own country

That would be so cool. You would have two countries, the Red States, basically a third world country, then you would have the Blue States, a country with an educated population and a balanced budget an no one to bail out. Unless you mean all the foreign aid that would have to go to the Reed States. But, you know Republicans say, "If you feed 'em, they'll breed". Of course, you would have to close the borders.

Well, I'm highly dubious, but we must also remember, the vast majority of those jobs are going to be temporary if realized. If this does occur, I will be ecstatic though.

But... How are they gonna get all those states that have moratoriums on building nukes to change their mind? Are we not expecting dozens if not hundreds of lawsuits by short sighted econazis that will increase the costs astronomically? Or are they including the lawyers in the number of employees.

Another sad point. Most of the scientists and technicians they hire won't be Americans. Thanks to our socialist... err I mean social 'science' minded colleges and universities, there are not enough qualified Americans willing to do the work. And those who can, are going to be looking at the jobs knowing they can get better pay overseas or in different fields. So, we probably can expect a spike in Visas from India, Pakistan, China, France (I would guess at least) and other nations that put out high amounts of nuclear technicians and engineers.

Why would you say that? Don't you know we have the best colleges and Universities in the world? Many of those "Pakistanis and Chinese" actually went to school here and decided to stay because the Blue States are nice places to live. Just because Republicans are "anti eduction, doesn't mean the rest of the country is.

Remember, 6%.

And we're back to that survey.... 6%. Seriously, rdean, you clutch to your statistics like a fundamentalist Christian clutches a bible.

Scientists, back in the 1970s, predicted that by the year 2000 vast parts of the earth would be uninhabitable due to global warming. Scientist are just people - you are aware of that, are you not? They are fallible, just like others.

Why would you say that?

Ohhh I don't know... 20 years of history where industry has been complaining they cant find qualified Americans to work for them in highly technical careers, the expansion of the Visa program during the Clinton Administration and screams of pain from amnesty freaks who want to make all those on visas American Citizens. The fact that our nation imports tens of thousands of students from overseas on student visas to become engineers, programmers, scientists and other technical careers.

Fewer Students Major in Computer Science

Declining Interest in Engineering Studies
Degrees earned by Foreign graduate students

As you will be able to see in these articles, the situation has improved a LITTLE since the 1990's, but, not enough to have me thinking it's reversed. So where are these technical people going to come from, AND, will they work for the wages offered? If these jobs do materialize, the chance is better than even those hired will not be Americans because there are fewer of them than foreign born engineers among other science based trades.

And we're back to that survey.... 6%. Seriously, rdean, you clutch to your statistics like a fundamentalist Christian clutches a bible.

It's his equivalent of holding onto the "John 3:16" sign at a wrestling match, thinking he's making a sensical point.

That would be 'global cooling'. It was predicted we'd be 11 degrees below 'normal', by the year 2000 in 1970. Well thank God global warming put a stop to THAT before we all froze to death.

SO, since so many scientists were completely wrong and have, historically, been proved wrong on numerous occasions, I wonder why read thinks that his "6%" whine is actually relevant to anything. Other than, since scientists are wrong more often than right, perhaps it is the 6% that are 'right' and the rest that are wrong.
