Unemployment is part of the total economy. The stock market also went up today. In a recession, unemployment is the last indicator to recover. The other pieces need to be in place before people start to hire again. If you look at the rate of unemployment over the last year, the rate of decline is decreasing showing we are starting to bottom out.

But it doesn't matter to the "Obama will fail" crowd. As soon as the unemployment rate improves, they will choose another sector of the economy that is most important to them.

Democrats controlled congress and the money since 2006. They blew off the fannie/freddie meltdown even after being warned by republicans.

You can't live off talking points. Freddie/Fannie required that you had a job and could pay back any loan. Because of an accounting scandal unrelated to the home loans, Freddie/Fannie pulled back on granting further loans. The Republican congress removed regulations from Wall Street that limited their involvement in Savings and Loans (housing market). Regulations that went all the way back to when John McCain was one of the Keating Five, for obvious reasons. Wall Street took over more than 70% of the home loan market, giving a loan to just about anyone who asked for one. They took the chancy loans, bundled them together and sold them to foreign investors. THAT IS THE ENTIRE REASON BEHIND THE FINALCIAL MELTDOWN FROM THE MORGUAGE SCANDAL.

If you guys would do any research instead of dutifully repeating Republican talking points, you would know that.

Actually, many Iraqi Christians have said that their lives were much better under Saddam.
Now that Islam is the National Religion and, by constitution, and all laws are now based in Islam, there is no future for Christians in Iraq.
