Jindal Says Republicans Should Offer a Health Plan

Lie is such an ugly word.
Look at the Salon.com article and in it he's talking about crafting a bipartisan solution that can get 60+ votes in the senate and that will actually help people, all based on things that both parties generally agree on.
Of course none of that made it to the Globe article.

Once Obama was elected president, his priority became the American People and NOT insurance companies. But it's ok. I understand, considering their recent history, why Republicans have a very difficult time understanding that.

Since I couldn't figure out where your link was, I was just wondering if it was like Freddie/Fannie. Republicans complained about how Obama received more from them than McCain. The difference, the money Obama received was from the "employees" themselves and NOT the company, like McCain. Employees gave fund raisers and bundled contributions and gave it to Obama as "from the company" when it was from the employees. Is it the same here?

Geez are you fucking clueless.
Corporations are forbidden by law from making campaign contributions. So contributions from "the employees" are actually from the corporation.
Obama became the president of the extreme left wing. Any pretense that he is somehow non partisan is a joke, not supported by any of his actions.

Any pretense that his priorities have EVER been anyone or anythihng other than himself deserves to met with derisive laughter.

The Republicans healthcare plan is to continue to receive BILLIONS in campaign contributions from the healthcare corporate lobbyists.

The Blue Dog Democrats have the same plan.

Did you know that the 5 Senators who have received the most in campaign contributions from health care and health insurance interests for 2010 are all Democrats: Harry Reid (D-NV) $401,350, Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) $353,400, Charles Schumer (D-NY) $289,650, Arlen Specter (D-PA) $282,010 and Ron Wyden (D-OR) $258,650?

Did you know that 4 of the 5 Representatives who have received the most in campaign contributions from the health care and health insurance interests for 2010 are Democrats: Kendrick Meek (D-FL) $208,350, Frank Pallone Jr. (D-NJ) $197,950, Steny Hoyer (D-MD) $183,910, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) $156,200 and Roy Blunt (R-MO) $137,100?

Did you know that in the 2008 presidential campaign, Barack Obama accepted $19,439,769 in campaign contributions from health care and health insurance interests? That’s over $12 million more than John McCain ($7,393,547).

Did you know that the 11 Republican candidates for president in 2008 received a combined total of $12,917,311 in campaign funds from health care and health insurance interests? That’s over $6.5 million dollars less than Mr. Obama accepted by himself.

Did you know that Senator Baucus—the man tasked with writing the Senate health reform bill—accepted $1,171,025 in campaign funds from health care and health insurance interests in 2008 alone?

Did you know that in 2008 54% of the campaign contributions given by health care and health insurance interests were given to Democrats and that in preparation for the 2010 elections, health care and health insurance interests have given 61% of their contributions to Democrats?

Did you know that of the top 20 health companies to give money for the 2010election cycle, 19 have contributed more to Democrats than to Republicans and that one company, Doctors Hospital at Renaissance, has given 100% of its contributions to Democrats?

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you...

Unless of course this all some sort of dog and pony show designed to make it look as if Obama actually intended to keep a campaign promise and no one in that swamp ever expected a healthcare bill to pass...

Where did you find this? I would like to read it. Was it all from a site like opensecrets.com, or was it from a single source?

and the dems will force you to buy insurance from the evil insurance companies guarenteeing those companies a never ending revenue source mandated by liberal government and backed up with threats of fines and imprisonment. i guess youre down with that?

insurance companies back the dems so-called "health insurance reform," it will put them on top of the heap and your boney ass will be crushed under their weight.

McCain won the South Carolina primary. The talk jocks can't even deliver South Carolina!

Enough said. Start making actual plans instead of just jeering at what the Dems are doing. And celebrating that we lost the 2016 Olympic bid is just bad form.

Then I guess insurance companies AREN'T giving money to senators and congressmen.

I wonder if that might be because the health insurance industry realizes that the Dems are in control at the moment. Lobbying the party in power happens in every industry, or did you not realize this? If you were a business owner, and your business relied on decisions and legislation originating with the Federal Government, would you lobby the minority party or the majority? Only a nitwit would put their money with the minority.

Damn folks, this ain't rocket science.

I agree with you, Auditor. The poster was hammering on Chris, because Chris was being....well, Chris. The guy who regurgitates the one liners that can either be fact, or fiction (usually fiction)

Prove me wrong.

I dare you.

The healthcare corporations gave $3.4 BILLION dollars to members of Congress in the last decade.

That is the only reason we don't already have national health insurance.

Our political system is a national disgrace.
