Jindal, flip flopper

``There has never been a challenge that the American people, with as little interference as possible by the federal government, cannot handle.'' -- Bobby Jindal, March 24, 2009

Bobby, stop crying for federal help then. Handle it yourself. The repubs always cry about federal intervention until it affects them.

You need to wise up. It isn't Jindal's problem. The leak is in FEDERAL WATERS. that makes it obie wan's problem he needs to get hiz azz out there an plug up the hole daddy.

But the oil is winding up on state land.

Wasn't Hurricane Katrina in federal waters before it hit state land? But that's a state job - but oil that travels through federal waters to get to state land - that's a federal job.

OK. Got it.

you guys got billions in federal aid post katrina. and I don't know how much more in private donations, yet you still cry like you were ignored. wanna know who was ignored? Tennessee.

LA can't handle it on it's own. The Feds require permits for the dredging and berm building that would protect LA. Why is the Obama admin delaying these?

Also, the gulf is Federal jurisdiction, not the state's. Obama claimed they were on the job from Day One. Jindal is quite right to hold the feds accountable for their role.

This will affect the entire Gulf Coast and if it gets into the Jet stream perhaps even the East Coast.

SHIT!

I had no idea that there was a chance that the oil would become airborne and get into the jet stream!

LOL! I meant the Gulf Steam. However since we are now in Hurricane season the Jet Steam could be possible!

It probably won't affect the entire East coast. Just the northern States, like Maine, for example.

Rush could get oil on his private beach in South Florida. He won't mind because he said it's natural.

The Feds have given Jindal all the permits he needs. Jindal is lying about this and showboating on tv doesn't hold anyone accountable. It's not stopping the leak that Bobby "Drill baby drill" Jindal helped create.

Also, the coast of LA is not fed jurisdiction.

They whine because that's what rightwing welfare recipients do best. When they're not whining about how they're not getting enough, they're whining about how someone else is getting too much

Yeah, they were "ignored" with an initial federal grant of 118 million, and 54,479 of them have taken "personal responsibility" by going to FEMA for money, I know the story.

So far, 45 Tennessee Counties have been approved for individual disaster assistance.

FEMA has also approved $118.4 million in federal assistance for those affected by the severe storms and flooding.

FEMA said 54,479 individuals have registered for individual assistance. 16,200 of those registered online; 36,844 registered by phone at 1-800-621-FEMA.

Also, the U.S. Small Business Administration has approved $9.8 million in loans.

There are 32 Disaster Recovery Centers currently in operation in Middle and Western Tennessee.

132 community relations specialists are going door-to-door in hard-hit communities to ensure that affected families are registered.

And here's what the Feds have done so far for the states who are whining about the president doing nothing:

•By the Numbers to Date:

•The administration has authorized 17,500 National Guard troops from Gulf Coast states to participate in the response to the BP oil spill.
•More than 20,000 personnel are currently responding to protect the shoreline and wildlife and cleanup vital coastlines.
•More than 1,700 vessels are responding on site, including skimmers, tugs, barges, and recovery vessels to assist in containment and cleanup efforts—in addition to dozens of aircraft, remotely operated vehicles, and multiple mobile offshore drilling units.
•Approximately 1.96 million feet of containment boom and 2 million feet of sorbent boom have been deployed to contain the spill—and approximately 620,000 feet of containment boom and 1.8 million feet of sorbent boom are available.
•Approximately 13.8 million gallons of an oil-water mix have been recovered.
•Approximately 980,000 gallons of total dispersant have been deployed—755,000 on the surface and 225,000 subsea. More than 420,000 gallons are available.
•More than 120 controlled burns have been conducted, efficiently removing a total of more than 2.8 gallons of oil from the open water in an effort to protect shoreline and wildlife.
•17 staging areas are in place and ready to protect sensitive shorelines, including: Dauphin Island, Ala., Orange Beach, Ala., Theodore, Ala., Panama City, Fla., Pensacola, Fla., Port St. Joe, Fla., St. Marks, Fla., Amelia, La., Cocodrie, La., Grand Isle, La., Shell Beach, La., Slidell, La., St. Mary, La.; Venice, La., Biloxi, Miss., Pascagoula, Miss., and Pass Christian, Miss.
