Jindal Chooses Party Over The People

cant please you partisans, he was a piece of shit FOR asking for it(when he hadnt really asked for it) and NOW he is a piece of shit for NOT asking for it

You kept editing your post so I wasn't see the full context of what you were saying.

He was a hypocrite in not accepting the funds in the first place like he should of. If he had seen the light and actually changed his tune, I would of been personally happy. But no, he continued to lie about how the stimulus has helped the state and has gone so far to change the names on the checks which is a scumbag move.

However, him putting politics before state does make him a piece of shit especially.
sorry, he IS looking out for the interests of his state, he doesnt want to add that operating budget to his tax payers
that's looking out for his state

At least you dropped the argument that he isn't acting like a scumbag in the first part.

As for looking out for the interests of his state. Everyone else involved seems to think it's a good idea. The new Rep from that area who is a REPUBLICAN thinks it's a good idea.

Think Progress » Jindal turns down $300 million in stimulus funds for high-speed rail.

Here's what you refer to:

Jindal aides have said the administration is not applying because of concerns about the project’s ongoing costs. They said the state would incur an annual $18 million bill to run the rail system once it became operational.

However Jimmy Cricket:

But U.S. Rep. Anh “Joseph” Cao, R-New Orleans, on Friday called on Jindal to apply for the money. Since all U.S. taxpayers will foot the bill for the stimulus spending, Cao said, the state’s elected officials should see that Louisiana gets its fair share

He acknowledged “a real concern” about the state’s responsibility for paying the annual costs, but said the overall project would be “an $180 million win for the state of Louisiana.”

i never said he was acting like a scumbag
not in this thread
in the other one before it was shown he hadn't actually asked for this money, i thought he was a hypocrite
however, he's done the right thing

Of course they think it's a good idea. THey get to spend money in the short term and leave the problem of financing the operating costs to the long term, after they've retired.
This is why Jindal is exercising something called "leadership." It's a rare commodity these days.

I'm thinking you must not live in Louisiana, as you missed out on his "leadership" during the last budget crisis. Jindal was justifiably raked over the coals for that one. Jindal's leadership consisted of threatening vetos whenever a budget was suggested. When asked to provide input on what he would be willing to sign into law, Jindal would dissapear to Iowa, or New York, or D.C., or wherever folks were willing to raise money for his re-election campaign.

Not everyone benefits equally yet you want everyone to pay equally.

You're the one putting words in my mouth. Taxpayer funding was never going to fully rebuild the Port of New Orleans or your hypothetical refinery (Which would probably depend on the Port of New Orleans depending on how far from the Mississippi you're talking about). Those running the port and the State of Louisiana were obliged to match funds at least partially, i.e., those benefitting the most had to pay their share.
