Jimmy Kimmel Doubles-Down On 'Stupid'

After being called out for his disastrously-flawed Late Night Monologue rant about guns / gun legislation, Kimmel doubled down on his ignorance and emotion-fueled rhetoric, telling 'gun nuts' that they are partially to blame for refusing to allow Liberals to strip them of their 2nd Amendment rights, which would not have prevented the Vegas attack and would not prevent future attacks.

Jimmy Kimmel Doubles Down on Gun 'Nuts': 'You Bear Some Responsibility'

"Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel continued to attack gun rights advocates during Tuesday night’s monologue of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, defending the deceptive gun control rant he issued in tears one night earlier and mocked gun “nuts” who called him out on it.

The greater criticism for Kimmel rests on the nature of his Monday night comments; his misleading and, in some cases, blatantly false claims about gun laws, certain types of firearms, and Second Amendment legislation pending before Congress.

The comic offered no apology for his deception during his Tuesday night monologue, nor did he rectify his failure to cry over those killed in gun-controlled Chicago —
nearly 59 people each month — the way he cried over those killed in gun-friendly Nevada. Instead, he doubled down appealing to his First Amendment right to say what he said and mocking those who called him out on it."

Yesterday several media outlets reported that Kimmel had received help writing his monologue from D-Schumer, who provided Kimmel with some gun 'facts' and figures. Well, that explains, in part, why his Monologue rant was so flawed and factually inaccurate...

:p
Good for Jimmy. A lot more people need to do a lot more standing up and telling the truth. This cannot continue.

He isn't telling the truth....not one thing he said was the truth. Doesn't that bother you?
Well, since AS USUAL Easy hasn't provided one single word of evidence to back up his claim (where is the link to the supposed lies Kimmel told the night before, please?) why should ANYTHING Easy says bother me? Easy lies like a rug. I've seen him do it over and over. So if Kimmel lied, show me and quit whining.

The NRA ignores the wishes of it's own members who overwhelmingly support things like detailed background checks and keeping guns out of the hands of mentally ill people.
None of which would have stopped Paddock, but let's not allow reality to get in the way of your feelings.
Nope, but it would save at least 59 other people who are murdered daily by guns they shouldn't be in possession of.

Background checks do not stop criminals from getting guns....they don't stop mass shooters from getting guns....this guy in Vegas passed at least 40 background checks to get his guns...one for each purchase........and those are the mandated Federal background checks...which means he would have passed any "detailed background check" too....do you understand that?

The Pulse nightclub shooter.....he passed a "detailed background check" for his job as a security officer, he passed a background check for every single gun he purchased, he passed 3 interviews with trained FBI interrogators, and a year long in depth background check and even an undercover approach by an FBI agent....

Background checks do not stop mass shooters because the only crime they commit is the mass shooting...

Do you understand this?
You should go easy on that. It will force concerned citizens to realize it is going to take a whole lot more than background checks to get guns under control in this country. Ban semis.

Feelings rule you. What is it with people that find some anecdotal thing that supports what they believe and they immediately extrapolate it out into infinity. "Well if this one thing happened then all things happen". Reality doesn't work like that. "Well we have laws against stealing but one person still stole something so no laws against stealing work".

By this reasoning no laws are of any value so why have them.

An Ad Absurdum argument that is ridiculous. All of human existence is about minimizing damage. Many people that wear seatbelts die in car crashes. We still require seatbelts because they save many lives. People die running red lights and stop signs, nobody then argues red lights and stop signs should be done away with because in one instance or even a thousand people ignored the law or such devices were less than 100% effective.

To argue such a thing is the realm of the lazy, those people that have no real grasp on something but find one instance of an exception and then apply it across the board in all circumstances. Real life is far messier and muddier than that but the lazy look for the easiest path that requires the least amount of thought.
well you show us how you can predict the mental state of all humankind. Cause that's what you'd have to do to stop gun violence. got that crystal ball? to tell all sane americans they must alter their rights because you can't figure out how to predict mental illness, is stupid. STUPID!!!!

And while you're at it, what gun law would have stopped the Paddock?

Shapiro At 'National Review': Jimmy Kimmel's Predictable Gun-Control Rant

Here are the facts: Kimmel’s monologue was wrong in significant and important ways. He misled his audience. And his specific policy prescriptions weren’t just wrong, they were misinformed.

Kimmel began by mocking the notion that the Second Amendment protected AK-47s; of course, that’s like stating that the First Amendment doesn’t protect Kimmel’s television show, since televisions didn’t exist in 1789. The function of a rifle in today’s society is the same as the function of a musket in the founding era. But Kimmel obviously knows nothing about firearms: he stated that in “Orlando, Newtown, Aurora, San Bernardino, every one of these shootings the murderer used automatic or semi-automatic rifles, which are not weapons you use for self-defense. They’re weapons designed to kill large numbers of people in the shortest possible amount of time.” Actually, three out of the four attacks were perpetrated with semi-automatic weapons: weapons that fire one bullet per trigger pull. And rifles are frequently used for self-defense, and are far less commonly used in homicides than handguns. Semi-automatic weapons are certainly not designed to kill large numbers of people in the shortest possible amount of time; since 1986, it has been illegal under federal law to purchase or own a machine gun manufactured after that date.

----

Kimmel went on to blast the National Rifle Association, suggesting that the NRA’s political spending is basically bribery (he said that the NRA had Republicans’ “balls in a money clip”) — but the NRA is politically powerful not because of its giving but because a huge number of Americans agree with its agenda. He moved on to ripping President Trump for signing a bill that “made it easier for people with severe mental illness to buy guns legally.” Again, this is a fallacious talking point: The bill Trump signed prevented the violation of due-process rights for Social Security recipients who need help with their finances. Kimmel trotted out the hackneyed talking point about the non-existent “gun-show loophole.” He suggested that making purchase of suppressors easier somehow raised rates of gun violence. The errors went on and on, but the message was clear: Republicans are sinners, and they must repent. “They should be praying,” Kimmel thundered. “They should be praying for God to forgive them for letting the gun lobby run this country, because it’s so crazy.” This is the typical debate: not between people who marshal evidence to their positions to determine the most effective policies, but between those who demand such evidence and those who scream to “do something” and suggest that those who refuse their policy suggestions “don’t care,” as Kimmel put it.

He rightfully lays the responsibility for these massacres where it belongs, at the feet of the gun cult in the US. The NRA, the gun manufacturers, the Republican Party. The NRA ignores the wishes of it's own members who overwhelmingly support things like detailed background checks and keeping guns out of the hands of mentally ill people.

But the gun cult derives money and political power from keeping these weapons in the hands of the very people that shouldn't have them. And the cult constructs ever more elaborate lies to keep the money flowing. The latest is 'silencers on guns protect children's hearing'. So up until now all the children of gun owners have been deaf?

It is a cult of just disgusting human beings.

You left out "a basket of irredeemable deplorable's!"

Ben Shapirio is an asshole.

He does not give a shit because he refuses to support efforts to help prevent the next one.

If you think we should have people to be able to legally purchase semi-autimatic rifles with 150 round magazines & a device to make them act like an automatic, then you DON'T give a fucking shit.

You are nothing but a low life. NRA duped, POS.

It is people like Shapiro that have blood on their hands from Columbine to Sandy Hook to Vegas.

Wow, you keep proving how stupid you are.

I have news. Chicago is not a country with borders that enables visitors to be screened.

All it takes is for a seller to travel to one of your retarded, hand out guns to everyone, states & drive them into Chicago,

This is why we need federal laws.

Okay, genius.....tell us...what would stop the next one?

150 round magazines....? Really......he could have killed just as many people with 10 round magazines....dumb ass...he was firing from a distance into a packed crowd, with no pressure from law enforcement...it takes less than 2 seconds to change out a magazine or switch to a different rifle....

And the bump fire? He could have killed just as many without it......

Again...what would stop the next one?
