Call Off the Global Drug War
By JIMMY CARTER
Published: June 16, 2011 - New York Times

Shultz and Paul A. Volcker.

So....

Not even knowing what the issue is, and reading who's on the one side...

I'm taking the other side.

Personal opinion: we wouldn't have a "drug war" if it didn't lock up tons of blacks and Hispanics.

The war on drugs was built on paranoia against a minimal threat. Out prisons are overflowing and the mob is profiting off the drug war

Pull the plug

It used to be the war on poverty, and then the war on drugs came about, and ghettoes were gentrified, blacks and hispanics thrown into jail... it's a fucking joke. Something to make voting parents feel safer at night, while the rest of the world suffers and the government and private prisons make tons of money.
