Americans Approval of Job Performance of Ex-Presidents, current presidents, and President-Elects:

Barack Obama: 82%
Bill Clinton: 68%
Jimmy Carter: 64%
Poppy Bush: 60%
George Junior: 27%

(CNN) -- President-elect Barack Obama, President Bush and all of the surviving past presidents got together Wednesday for a historic meeting at the White House.....

A new poll out Wednesday indicates that 69 percent of adult Americans approved of how Clinton handled his job as president, while 64 percent of adult Americans gave a thumbs up to Carter and 60 percent approved of George H.W. Bush.

Bush registered only a 27 percent approval rating in a December CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey.

In contrast, Obama had an 82 percent approval rating.

Clinton left the WH with a higher approval rating than Reagan left with.

why then, didn't that 64% re-elect his sorry peanut azz? doyathink?

How does P.E. Obama have job approval ratings? He hasnt even started the job yet.

Yeah this is a really scientific survey.

Presidents' approval ratings almost always go higher once they are out of office for a few years. W's rating will almost certainly be higher in 10 years.

He's striving for 40%!

Any one who voted for that lame ass Carter, never had to wait in line for gas hours at a time to fill up on the only 2 days a week you were "allowed" to. This fake approval rating thing cracks me up...If the selfish little bastards (as in the younger generation of today) had to wait in said lines they would freak out and go postal... extreme road rage anyone..

if it takes as long as it took carter to get to 64%, i won't live to see it.

so i've got that going for me.

Obama 82% and he hasn't done a damn thing! Not even at the state level.

Amazing, what a dumb, dumb - ah never mind.

I realize that Carter wasn't a popular president in 1979 and 1980.

What I was thinking, was that 6 months ago Bush supporters were giggling among themselves that they could tar Obama as "Carter II" and score points.

I told you that wouldn't work. It might have sounded good when Rush Limbaugh was saying it to you, but I told you that 30 years after Carter left office most americans don't really hate the man, and no one under the age of 50 can even really remember his presidency. That Rush Limbaugh stategy of political attack only made the GOP look old and super out of touch.
