Maybe it is too soon to try.

He did a lot of good stuff -but also had some gaffes - like sleeping with women who could have been KGB agents etc.

With only two years to evaluate it's damned hard to arrive at a conclusion.

I think the fact that he took us closer to nuclear war than any other POTUS (since FDR, of course) doesn't make him look so good, though.

The fact that we didn't go to war, does mitigate that complaint somewhat.

The BIG BIG question is, what would he have done in Viet Nam?

We'll never know, but we know what Johnson did, and that was totally screw things up.

I wasn't born when Ike was elected in 1952.

JFK was the first president in my lifetime.

Even in a Catholic school - there was alwas thePledge of Allegience to the Flag.

Leanrned about JFK shooting just before recess. The usual peanut butter and jelly sandwich my mom made didnt taste very good.

What I admired most about JFK was his non-partisanship.

He and Nixon were friends and remained so after the 1960 election.

He was a womanizer - but he proably admitted it to to Jackie and was memding his ways when he was MURDERED.

As far as women goes he appears to me to be something of pig.

Of course by the standards of his day, being a chauvinist pig was de rigor.
