But... i love Halloween. It really annoys me that groups try and ruin it for kids.

Not a new phenomena really, the Simpsons even did an episode on the theme with Ned Flanders doing a moralistic 'Hell House' as a counter to the usual Halloween activities.

christians have assimilated just about every pagan holiday as their own over the centuries. Now they are looking to assimilate Halloween.

Here comes jesus ween. Don't give out candy... give out bibles.

Jesus Ween participants are expected to hand out Bibles and other Christian gifts in "a friendly way", according to a promotional video. Instead of costumes, participants are supposed to wear white, to symbolize righteousness.

'Jesus Ween': Christian Group Promotes Godly Alternative To Halloween

You know I'm a Christian and you and I don't usually see eye-to-eye when it comes to religion but I feel your frustration here.

Saw a church, yesterday, with a sign reading "trunk or treat".
I hear that they have people load their trunks with food and clothing to donate.

Weirds me out to see a church associate with halloween.

I understand the early church incorporating the pagan days and symbols in order to lure new members.
Is that really necessary today?

I just don't see the reasoning behind associating with an apparent "dark" holiday

Only it's not a 'dark holiday'. It is the 'hallowed eve', the night before All Saints' Day.

You almost gotta laugh. The adult perverts who corrupted halloween in the last couple of decades don't frighten the left as much as the Bible.

In the last couple of decades people have had to use metal detectors to determine if fruit is laced with sharp objects and go through kids treats to try to find open candy that might have been tampered with bad stuff. You almost have to stifle a laugh when you see left wing parents sluffing off the possibility of injury or death with tainted treats while cringing at the sight of a Bible in a kid's bag. It's a world upside down.

:) ... no we usually don't... but ya know, that alright.

This is something fun for kids..... i think its sad to see anyone spoil that fun with motives of their own.

Ill be giving out candy and not bibles.....

Poison the body.... poison the mind. :dunno: Poison is poison.

My father told me that the Jews created Hanuka so that they had a 'counter-holiday' at Christmas.

They should call it "Hollow-Christ" instead of "Jesus-Ween".

Jesus-Ween sounds like the title of a porno involving a Latin Landscaper.
