Jesus was one of those 47%

Show me where in the bible it actually speaks of Jesus doing physical work for a living.

So you start this thread with Him not working, only to realize that He had not one but two jobs. Preaching and carpentry are considered occupations.
So you change your position to physical labor. So are you saying that He didn't work hard enough for you to find him productive?

How do you know that working miracles doesn't count as work?

Luke 8:46- But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.”

How do you know that working miracles doesn't count as work? Do you consider it work when you perform them???

Luke 8:46- But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.”

What product does a preacher produce? Income from others for himself?
I perfrom miracles every day or at least they would be considered miracles by those of Jesus's time.
We have absolutely no proof that Jesus performed any miracle.
Paper does not care what is written on it.
The bible also speaks of men, not jesus flying around and doing other miracles.
Miracles and magic seem to have dissappeared in the world.

A preacher cares for his flock as a shepherd cares for his.
Then fix my broken leg, and raise my brother from the dead. That is what impressed those in the time of Jesus.
We have absolutely no proof you can work miracles.
Keyboards care not what you type.
Not men. Men empowered by the Holy Spirit. < The power pack/ energy portion of the Trinity.
Because they were a sign, and for a time, and shall pass away.
That does not mean that God still doesn't work miracles in people's live. Public displays were for that specific time.
The anti-Christ will bring them back to fool mankind..

1) He paid taxes in the scriptures
2) He spent years as a carpenter before beginning His ministry.
3) At no point did He take government assistance or encourage anyone else to.

About 2) Actually, Joseph was the carpenter. The claim that Jesus was a carpenter is only an extension of Joseph profession, which is a common practice to assume in those days.

Jesus was a traveling theologian that proclaimed his own religion and took money from his followers. There is no indication of any other work performed by Jesus except those described Jesus performing in the Bible. Actual carpentry was not performed by Jesus, but an analogue to carpentry to describe Jesus works is used.

I think what UScitizen is trying to say is that man can tell lies. Man can write lies.

What actual proof is given that GOD wants you to believe that Jesus is what is stated?

It is kind of hard for a believer to understand this point because you already believe. But someone outside the faith can easily point out the flaws in believing the claims of a religion by a member of that religion.

In other words, the same reason not to believe in Islam, Hindism or Hellinicism also applies to Christianity. Especially when it comes to believers claims and testimonies.

So is the new meme going to be Jesus is one of the 47 percent, instead of Jesus was a socialist, or Jesus was a liberal?

Ho hum. There's nothing wrong with the 47 percent, they just don't vote Republican.

If they vote at all.

I don't think Jesus could vote.

Rome was an empire and Jesus was an oppressed subject of a conquered territory.

He was a helluva guy, and the one and only way to the Father. No man gets there without Him.

I respect your beliefs. But may not necessarily believe in them 100%.

Jesus was most likely gay and a con man. That is, IF he even existed, since there's no real proof.

Actually, virtually all historians agree that He existed.

The rest of your post is beyond ridiculous and not worth commenting on - other than to say that anytime an intelligent person reads the words 'most likely' they know the rest of the post is bullshit.

IN other words a deadbeat.
Where in the bible does it actually speak of him doing work?

He didn't take money from his government, he felt no sense of entitlement, people gave food to him freely because they loved him and/or his message, and he slept in the open.

He actually was part of what was then probably the 1%.

You are an idiot.

A mooch then. Still a deadbeat.

Hitting a lot of nerves with this one usa; Jesus also told us to give to the poor until we ourselves were poor. Try selling THAT to the CONbots

You can, I assume, quote the NT passage where Jesus said we should abdicate our personal responsibility to government?

This is the problem with the left, you mistake government programs for personal charity. Jesus told us to help the poor... not the government, us... as our Christian duty. Some of us take that duty seriously. You, clearly, don't understand it.

Even Elton John said that Jesus was likely gay. You can only say likely, because there's no real proof that he even existed. It doesn't matter whether all the historians think that the earth used to be flat, there's still no evidence to support it.
As for con man, well, turning water into wine, if it happened, sounds like a con job to me.

Elton has a doctorate in biblical history? Who knew!:lol: Moron.

Those people who actually do have doctorates in biblical history - the vast majority agree that the man existed. Look! It says so on wiki! So it must be true!

Historicity of Jesus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Virtually all modern scholars of antiquity agree that Jesus existed, and see the theories of his non-existence as effectively refuted.[5][6][7][8][9][10] Scholars generally agree that Jesus was a Galilean Jew who was born BC 7–2 and died AD 30–36.[11][12] Most scholars hold that Jesus lived in Galilee and Judea[13][14][15] and that he spoke Aramaic and may have also spoken Hebrew and Greek.[16][17][18][19][20] Although scholars differ on the reconstruction of the specific episodes of the life of Jesus, the two events whose historicity is subject to "almost universal assent" are that he was baptized by John the Baptist and was crucified by the order of the Roman Prefect Pontius Pilate.[21][22][23][24]

I appreciate that's not quite as impressive as Elton Jones opinion, but it is what it is. And you are a fucking fool.

He doesn't mention his doctorate in biblical studies on his wiki page.
