According to the author of the Gospel of Mark (Mark 3:19-21, 31), during the period when he was preaching, Jesus' relatives, his mother and his brothers, believed that he was mentally ill. The author of the Gospel of John comments that "neither did his brothers believe in him" (John 7:5). Jesus, in turn, rejected them (Mark 3:31-35, Matthew 12:46-50, Luke 8:19-21). Apparently, Mary, the mother of Jesus, forgot the visits of angels, magi, and shepherds. The prophecies of Anna and Simeon completely slipped her mind. Most of all Mary seems to have forgotten her own impregnation by the Holy Spirit. It is more than likely that she had nothing to forget because these episodes never happened. When Jesus started to preach they had a legitimate concern as to his mental condition. This incident, rather than later claims that his family believed in his message, shows that no miracles surrounded his birth.

JESUS CHRIST 'MAY HAVE SUFFERED FROM MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS', CLAIMS CHURCH OF ENGLAND
Jesus Christ may have suffered from mental health problems claims Church of England UK News Daily Express

"A SUGGESTED sermon produced by the Church of England for clerics attempting to tackle the stigma of mental health pulls no punches.
Written by the Rev Eva McIntyre on behalf of the Church’s Archbishops’ Council and the Time to Change mental health campaign, it suggests John the Baptist, St Paul, St Francis and other figures from the Bible may all have been mentally ill.

It even asks followers to consider accusations made in the New Testament that Jesus "had lost his mind".

It reads: "Many of the people we read about in Bible stories might today be considered as having mental health issues.

"For example, ‘Would Jesus’ family maybe on occasion have said, ‘Cousin John is a bit odd, bless him!’ when John the Baptist took to his eccentric style of life?

"It has long been thought that King Saul, in the books of Samuel, was displaying mood swings that suggest he had bi-polar disorder and some think that St Paul’s Damascus Road experience was the result of some sort of breakdown or psychotic episode.

"Even Jesus was not immune to accusations about his mental health: there is a story in the gospel that tells of his mother and siblings attempting to take him home because they are afraid that he has lost his mind.

"Many of the stories of the Saints, too, have led people to discuss their mental health.

Acknowledging how shocking these ideas might be, Ms McIntyre, a member of the General Synod, adds: "Some may find these suggestions disturbing or offensive even."

Was Jesus Mentally Ill

Poor, poor guno, has nothing better to do than to waste time from his mother's basement.

Mark 3:
20Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat. 21When his familyb heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”
22And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.”
23So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan? 24If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come. 27In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house. 28Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, 29but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.”
30He said this because they were saying, “He has an impure spirit.”
31Then Jesus’ mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him. 32A crowd was sitting around him, and they told him, “Your mother and brothers are outside looking for you.”

Try again guno, we know you have plenty of time, and no life.

Guno? This thread is ridiculous! Seriously now. What shall you do when you finally realize that Jesus is your Messiah! I tell you the truth, Joseph's brothers will have nothing on you in that hour! You will be undone, I tell you! Undone! Now save yourself the undue duress you are sure to experience and stop this nonsense.

The Toledot Yeshu is a set of stories about the life of Jesus, written by Jews and dedicated to demonstrating the falseness of his Messianic claims. Versions, some surviving and some now lost, circulated throughout Europe and the Mediterranean, in Aramaic, Hebrew, and Judeo-Arabic. It was translated into Latin in the thirteenth century and again in the fifteenth century by Christian polemical authors, and indeed the earliest full version that survives from Europe is in Latin. Some versions contain a scene of anal rape of Jesus by Judas. :ack-1:

Toledot Yeshu
The Book of the Life of Jesus (in Hebrew Sefer Toledot Yeshu) presents a chronicle of Jesus from a negative and anti-Christian perspective. It ascribes to Jesus an illegitimate birth, a theft of the Ineffable Name, heretic activities, and finally, a disgraceful death. Perhaps for centuries, the Toledot Yeshu circulated orally until it coalesced into various literary forms. Although the dates of these written compositions remain obscure, some early hints of a Jewish counter history of Jesus can be found in the works of Christian authors of Late Antiquity, such as Justin, Celsus, and Tertullian. Around 600 CE, some fragments of Jesus’ biography made their way into the Babylonian Talmud; and in 827, the archbishop Agobard of Lyon attests to a sacrilegious story of Jesus that circulated among Jews.

Guno, do you realize the Jewish rulers who denied Jesus knew he was the Messiah? They did. They denied him knowing he was the Messiah - they saw his miracles and still denied him. You know why? They were afraid they would be thrown out of the synagogue. They loved the praises of men more than the praises of God. They knew Jesus was the Messiah and the lied through their teeth, made up lies about Him so others would not believe Jesus was the Messiah. What kind of punishment do you believe they are experiencing right now for that? Do not listen to such men, Guno. They are wicked. Do not follow their example. I believe the LORD will reveal himself to you in due time but you should wait on the LORD and seek His face about this. Read 7:17. If any man wills to do the will of God they shall know whether the doctrine Jesus taught was of God or not! Are you willing to do the will of God? If you are, then you shall know it. If you are looking for the praises of men you won't learn anything. That is up to you, Guno. Jesus Christ is the Messiah. Believe it don't believe it but I would stop spreading lies about Him if I were you. - J.

They said that only because he was speaking his mind not caring what the Pharisees or Romans said. He was not crazy.

He should not be insulting you, Guno. No one should be insulting you. Period. That is not something any christian should be doing to you or anyone else for that matter. But on the matter of your insulting Jesus with such nonsense, there were some Jewish leaders who feared the Jews would leave their control and find freedom in Christ who came to fulfill the law and so they made it their lifes ambition to stop His teachings - the Gospel of Jesus Christ - from going forward. Now that didn't work out that well because The Jewish early church - and Paul who preached to the Gentiles although he too was a Jew - spread the Gospel far and wide and today it is still being preached.

Granted Christ has been seriously misrepresented by the prosperity preachers and those preaching a wide road gospel but Jesus said the laborers are few. Just who do you believe are His true followers anyhow? The Laborers. That's who. Stop looking at everything that reads or claims itself as christian and start examining the fruit that is coming forth out of that ministry or whatever it is you are questioning.

I tell you the truth. With something as important as your own relationship with G-d? With something as important as your own faith? I would personally do my own research - instead of listening to those who had every reason to change the facts in order to hide the truth. Go to the Hebrew prophets, Guno. Look at the book of Isaiah and read all 66 chapters. Ask G-d, Is this Jesus Isaiah encountered in the throne room? Is this Him? Is Jesus the man of sorrows in Isaiah 53, G-d? Is Jesus LORD? If Jesus is LORD I want to know more - reveal Him to me G-d and I am willing to receive Him as my Messiah to pardon my sins - let me know this is your will, G-d and I will do it. Do you think G-d is going to not honor a prayer like that? He will, Guno. He will. Jesus is the Messiah. I apologise for that other guys rudeness. He should not be rude to you. That was wrong.

Guno is a Jew who is not certain that Jesus is the Messiah. Is he a Jew? Yes. A sincere Jew? Yes. Does G-d love Guno? Yes. Very much, I'm certain of it.

Somebody has too. The man takes delight in degrading others religion, yet say something negative about the jewish faith and he will be the first to shout Anti-Semitic.
