Jesse Jackson Supports A Black National Anthem

I wonder, do you think if this were to come about and "the black national anthem" was played if white people who refused to stand, remove their hats and place their right hands over their hearts would be deemed racists?

I'm not a fan of Jessie Jackson, but I really hate smear jobs, particular when they are based on misquotes. In this case, Jackson did not refer to the national anthem and certainly didn't refer to a black national anthem. It you want to smear Jackson, there is lot better material than this.

Sorry but that is the way that CNN is reporting it.

Interesting. In the CNN clip there is no reference to a black national anthem and there no discussion of the national anthem. I would expected something like this from Fox or MSNBC, but not CNN. Well, I guess whether it's true or not it makes good copy and that's what's important.

There will be another civil war before I allow any group of any color, religion, or ancestry to split this country. We don't need the so called two Americas, we need to find the way to become Americans first and foremost.

They call themselves African Americans not American Africans

Can someone present the following facts please?

1. How much money does Jesse Jackson get from his so-called "self promotion?"
2. Who is paying him?
3. When did the New Black Panther Party make those statements?
4. How many members of the New Black Panther Party are there?
5. Who's supporting the New Black Panther Party?

If the situation is half as bad as some of you people claim it is, the above facts should be EASILY found and presented.

Don't worry...I'll wait.

" There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism... a hyphenated American is not an American at all. This is just as true of the man who puts "native" before the hyphen as of the man who puts German or Irish or English or French before the hyphen. Americanism is a matter of the spirit and of the soul. Our allegiance must be purely to the United States. We must unsparingly condemn any man who holds any other allegiance. But if he is heartily and singly loyal to this Republic, then no matter where he was born, he is just as good an American as any one else.

The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic. The men who do not become Americans and nothing else are hyphenated Americans; and there ought to be no room for them in this country. The man who calls himself an American citizen and who yet shows by his actions that he is primarily the citizen of a foreign land, plays a thoroughly mischievous part in the life of our body politic. He has no place here; and the sooner he returns to the land to which he feels his real heart-allegiance, the better it will be for every good American. There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

For an American citizen to vote as a German-American, an Irish-American, or an English-American, is to be a traitor to American institutions; and those hyphenated Americans who terrorize American politicians by threats of the foreign vote are engaged in treason to the American Republic."

President Theodore Roosevelt

Now I can't speak for the president, but I'm fairly sure he would add African American to that list, I know I would.

Nobody calls themselves American Poles, American Irish, etc. either. What the hell is your point?

Why?

Who was your Google-bitch yesterday?

Jesse Jackson has been very Liberal and very pro Black America. Not certain why every little thing that he says and does after all these years still gets you wingnuts all in a tizzy.

That you still feel the need to whine and complain about Jesse Jackson says something about you, not him.

We wonder the same thing when you guys shit yourselves over Sarah Palin.

As long as they are not "the chosen".
Eh, Howdee fuckin DooDoo ?

You have to take him somewhat seriously, there are God only knows how many people believe everything he says as gospel. So if he is calling for a Black national anthem, isn't he calling for a separate black America? I can't see that, and will fight against it. Unless he wants to find some new land somewhere. But if you are in America then be an American.
