Actually, they're not moving jobs to China. They've done pretty well over the past while, and since they are doing so well, they are ADDING 1,200 JOBS TO AMERICAN WORKERS as well as RE-OPENING some plants in China.

He didn't. Chrysler has been ramping up its Chinese assembly plants for vehicles for sale in the Chinese market. Chrysler has also been ramping up production in the USA for the domestic market. Mitt's lie was his claim that Jeep was moving production from North America to China. The fact that he continues this lie, even after its exposed shows his level of integrity.

You are mistaken. Romney said he had seen a news article which claimed Jeep was considering moving all of its production to China, and he had.

"I saw a story today that one of the great manufacturers in this state Jeep— now owned by the Italians — is thinking of moving all production to China," Romney said at a rally in Defiance, Ohio, home to a General Motors powertrain plant. "I will fight for every good job in America. I'm going to fight to make sure trade is fair, and if it's fair America will win."

Romney was apparently responding to reports Thursday on right-leaning blogs that misinterpreted a recent Bloomberg News story earlier this week that said Chrysler, owned by Italian automaker Fiat SpA, is thinking of building Jeeps in China for sale in the Chinese market.

The Bloomberg story, though accurate, "has given birth to a number of stories making readers believe that Chrysler plans to shift all Jeep production to China from North America, and therefore idle assembly lines and U.S. work force.

The Obama campaign misrepresented Romney's statement, as you have, in order to avoid discussion of the fact that all the good paying jobs manufacturing Jeeps to export to China will soon be shipped to China and that Obama has done nothing to try to persuade Jeep to continue to manufacture those Jeeps here and export them to China. Romney's point was that he will try to give Jeep reasons to continue manufacturing Jeeps in the US for export to China in order to keep all those jobs here, and Obama seems not to be interested in making that effort.
