Well, it seems that Japan's PM, Shinzo Abe has nominated Trump for the Nobel peace prize.

Finally...........................because apparently the US government apparently asked him to do it last autumn.

I wonder..............does being nominated count, if you asked someone to nominate you?

Japan's PM nominated Trump for Nobel Peace Prize on U.S. request: Asahi | Reuters

TOKYO (Reuters) - Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe nominated U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize last autumn after receiving a request from the U.S. government to do so, the Asahi newspaper reported on Sunday.

The report follows Trump’s claim on Friday that Abe had nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize for opening talks and easing tensions with North Korea.

The Japanese leader had given him “the most beautiful copy” of a five-page nomination letter, Trump said at a White House news conference.

Not only am I wondering why the US government asked the PM of Japan to nominate Trump, but I am also wondering why Abe did it.

N. Korea hasn't done any "denuclearization", nor are they going to get rid of their missiles.

I don't expect him to get it because it usually only goes to terrorists and other assorted left wingers but he deserves it a hell of a lot more than the Kenyan, who did absolutely nothing to deserve it.

Hey, at least Obama didn't tell someone to nominate him. Trump did.

Which smells remarkably similar to this............

Nobel Peace Prizes should only be for those who are graced with Political Correctness (Obama), not those who pre-empt Cold Wars (Reagan) or ruthless dictators ( Bush II & Trump) .

Hey, at least Obama didn't tell someone to nominate him.

And you know that how?

Because, if he did, some conservative would have ferreted it out, and broadcast it for all to see, just so they could shame him. If he had, they would have had seven years to dig it up while he was president because he was awarded that the first year he was elected.

Clearly the Japanese PM has misspelled "piece".

Who is the "piece" in that relationship, Trump or Abe?

Neither --- it would be in recognition of Stormy Daniels, Karen MacDougal, Jessica Leeds, Kristin Anderson, Jill Harth, Cathy Heller, Karina Virginia, Bridget Sullivan, Tasha Dixon, Mindy McGillivray, Rachel Crooks, Natasha Stoynoff, Jessica Drake, Ninni Laaksonen, Summer Zervos, Cassandra Searles.... and anybody else he throws under the Excess Hollywood bus.

At least they wouldn't regret giving him the prize, like they did Obama...

Nobel chief regrets Obama peace prize

They regretted it because it didn't accomplish what they had hoped. The Nobel committee hoped that it would strengthen his presidency, but because many people (including some of Obama's supporters), thought that he didn't deserve it here in the US. THAT is why they regretted it.

Awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to US President Barack Obama in 2009 failed to achieve what the committee hoped it would, its ex-secretary has said.

Geir Lundestad told the AP news agency that the committee hoped the award would strengthen Mr Obama.

Instead, the decision was met with criticism in the US. Many argued he had not had any impact worthy of the award.

Mr Lundestad, writing in his memoir, Secretary of Peace, said even Mr Obama himself had been surprised.

"No Nobel Peace Prize ever elicited more attention than the 2009 prize to Barack Obama," Mr Lundestad writes.

"Even many of Obama's supporters believed that the prize was a mistake," he says. "In that sense the committee didn't achieve what it had hoped for".

Counts no less than being awarded it, for having done absolutely nothing...

Clearly that's not the right reason to award such a prize, which should be a recognition of past achievements rather than a wish for future ones.

Now the question is, will they make the same mistake again? There's no reason to suspect they will just because Rump metaphorically drew up another fake Time Mag cover and sold a copy.

You're right. They shouldn't have given Obama the Peace Prize until AFTER he'd done something to deserve it. Awarding it aspirationally is kinda cheapening the prize.

Speculation.
