Jobs added in Sept. were 114,000.
In order for the rate to go from 8.1% to 7.8% you need to add 873,00 jobs.

The jobs are mostly temporary for the Holidays and will get corrected when it is released again at the beginning of the New year.

I enjoyed how he talked about how the BLS numbers are based on a series of assumptions, then immediately after starts making a series of assumptions. Not all assumptions are bad assumptions, but ones based solely upon coincidence are among the worst kind.

I absolutely hate the fact that I have to debunk members of my own party. It hurts me. For Romney's sake I hope he continues to stay above the fray.

"Jobs," comes from a survey of business payrolls. It doesn't include Agriculture, self-employed, unpaid family workers, and some others.
The preliminary estimate for Sep was 114,000 higher than the first revision for Aug.

Unemployment estimates come from a survey of Households. The survey includes Total employment, not just non-farm payroll.
The household survey is not as accurate as the payroll survey, but you get more details.

The estimate for Sep was 873,000 higher than the Aug estimate.

Different surveys measuring different concepts with different time frames etc

Was Sep unusually different? Sure. Doesn't mean manipulation.
