SportsProf: Citadel Cadets Assault Princeton Band Members

So Princeton's "mock band' went to a football game against The Citadel, the "Military College of South Carolina". You football fans know them, they're the team Auburn played in 2004 that kept them out of the Nat'l Champ game.

Anyway, cadets with the Marine and Army ROTC were marching in the morning. Princeton folks took their act to the "Avenue of Rememberance", the sacred ground at The Citadel where the school honors it's past heroes that died in battle.

The Princeton folks mocked the cadets who were standing in formation, made insulting comments, mocked a "fabulous" military formation of their own, acted out sex acts on their sacred ground............

Then, the military cadets ended that nonsense. Surrounded them. Literally made them cry. Broke their instruments. Assaulted a few.

Only when the local Charleton Police Dept showed up did this nonsense get under control. CPD honorably filed no charges against the cadets. The NJ media of course spun this story far to the left, saying the "kids" were playing their instruments and just having a bit of fun cheering on their football team (didn't happen during football game). I was lucky enough to be there for this incident and see it. Princeton band was disgusting and plain hateful in how they acted on the Avenue of Rememberance. They got exaclty what they deserved.

Yeah, cadets were wrong. But screw it. Someone has to teach these liberal dirtbags a lesson, and it was on THEIR grounds, not out in a public place. Princeton should've had some respect for the grounds they were on.

But of course, respect and tolerance aren't libral traits.

Bravo to The Citadel cadets for sticking up for their fallen alumni, and bravo to Charleston Police for responding and not arresting the cadets.

Shocker....Repubs and conservative leaners assaulting other peoples' peaceful protest....

It wasn't a peaceful protest. The libs were in town for the Princeton-Citadel football game.

BUT...they made there way over...1 mile from the stadium, ON CAMPUS at The Citadel (The Citadel gates are open on football gamedays for parents to visit) and found their way to the sacred Avenue of Rememberance, where Citadel cadets were doing weekend Marine and Army ROTC drill. They marched down the Avenue, in a mocking way, made mock salutes to the cadets while the cadets were in inspection formation, verbally insulted the cadets, and basically went out of their way to mock and provoke the military cadets on campus. This was not in a public street or sidewalk. It was not a pre-planned protest.

Libs LOVE doing this shit. They know they almost always get away with it, they can be as vulgar as they want and no one does a thing.

Well, they picked the wrong place, at the wrong time, and got their asses put in their place. Citadel cadets (yes, just little 18-20 year old kids) made the Princeton smug libs cry haha!!

I love it. And CPD didn't press charges. Even better.

As I said, a peaceful protest by "libs" assaulted and broken up by Republicans and conservatives. Why am I not surprised?

This isn't the first time the Princeton band has had trouble with a military academy. In the fall of 1981, officials at West Point banned the Princeton band from playing at Michie Stadium. It was Army's homecoming, and the Long Grey Line just didn't appreciate the whacky and sometimes warped sense of humor of the Princeton band. At the time, I thought that the decision was wrong, but, well, it's hard to beat Army on their home turf at many things.

shitty libs, why am I not surprised?

Guess it's all in how one interprets "peaceful protest". If I went to the middle of town square in Juarez, Mexico, and started an anti illegal immigration rally, I'd get hurt.

Peaceful protest is one thing. Provocation is another. In fact, in Charelston, it is against city statute to "provoke or attempt to provoke a fight", under the city's Disorderly Conduct law. So, protesting with the intent to provoke a fight is actually illegal.

And this wan't on a public sidewalk. It was inside the walls of The Citadel, on their most sacred ground, DURING ROTC drill. NOT at the football stadium, 1 mile away. They purposely sought out that location.

However, you've never been to The Citadel, which is fine, but if you had you better understand the area and the buildings at The Citadel. It's like a fortress, and the grounds are in the middle. One would have to seriously go out of their way to end up on that location, can't end up there by accident or just passing by. Princeton band purposely went to that spot to mock and provoke the military students during their drill.

They got exactly what they tried to provoke. They just weren't expecting to. Haha!! They realized they ain't in Jersey no more!!!

From the way it reads, it doesn't seem like a peaceful protest but a direct disruption and taunting provocation. Typical crybaby liberal tactic.

Summarily beaten down by Republicans and conservatives.....

Hey, they went out of their way to provoke it. They just didn't realize that many places outside of Jersey won't put up with their act.

This isn't your fault, but if you'd been to The Citadel's campus, you'd know that where the football stadium is (where they were supposed to be) and where they actually were, and how far out of the way they had to go to get there, the 100% intended to provoke some military guys.

And they got way more than they bargained for.

OH, and even sweeter, the Bulldogs put a physical beat down on the Princeton football team on the field. Libs are such pu**ies haha!!!

calling you a waaaaaambalance... yep,, be here shortly.

Hahaha!! Good one.

See, liberals hold nothing sacred. Well, maybe Al Gore and rainbow flags. But nothing else.

The military, the police, religion. To them, nothing is sacred, and one should be allowed to make a mockery of anything at anytime. Examples are "art" of a feces covered Virgin Mary, a cross in urine, etc, etc. Same goes for the military and police.

Yet us on the right, we know that even if it's technically wrong, some things are worth protecting. Some things are so sacred, and so honored, that we won't allow them to be made a mockery of.

If you go to The Citadel, and march around like a moron mocking their Avenue of Rememberance for fallen alumni............well, thats worth making it right. And God Bless the Charleton Police Dept who showed up, calmed it, and pressed no charges on anyone. They understand the situation well and reacted accordingly.

Well I don't agree with the beatdown, but I damn sure bet those disrespectful "skinny jean" wearing lil' elitist liberal PUNKS will think twice before trying to dishonor those who gave their lives for their country.

And I must admit. If I were there and witnessed such disregard, I probably wouldn't have been able to hold back from busting some teeth.........Not saying it would be right but, as the old saying goes, for every action there is a reaction.

I was there to watch the FB game and a friend of mine is an alumni, so he was touring me around campus.

I saw the incident unfold and it was wild. I'm a former cop, so my biggest worry was that these cadets may get charged for assault, although deep down I agreed with their actions. Luckily, Charleston PD showed up, escorted the Princeton folk to the stadium, and let the cadets carry on without any legal action. I was never prouder of a police dept making a common sense decision than that day.
