It was a great and rather discouraging revelation for me, when I had to look through those files passed to IOC by new Ivanishvili regime in Georgia. Previous Saakashvili's administration was involved in direct skin-games, cheating and bribery effort to manipulate some IOC staffers.
Far as I got it, the idea was to force them abandon Sochi, Russia, as a place to conduct Olympic Games. Some officials were intimidated, some blackmailed and some just bribed to reach the aim. Details become evidently plain from some written reports of the Georgian officials involved in the Saakashvili's sanctioned effort.
Fancy I even saw some huge restaurant bills and shopping cash receipts for elite items added to those reports!! It's unbelievable just!
