Its the spending Stupid

How did our U.S. Government spend $15 Trillion more than they took in? This is a logical question no? Sorry, blaming the Taxpayer aint gonna cut it. The taxpayer didn't spend us into Debt Hell. The Government did that.

How? With things like sending $500M of homebuyer tax credits to people who didn't deserve them.

How many times do we need to say this? We don't have a Tax Problem we're already taxed more then enough we have a Spending Problem. How is that so many don't understand this?

Liberals never run out of entitlements and other such ponzi schemes to spend your money on in order to create new voter blocks that blindly vote Democrat.

Its so very easy to spend everyone else money that they've made a fine art of it however today it seems they've out done themselves showing utter contempt for the electorate and are paying the price for the arrogance.

Unfortunately for you the numbers don't bear this out. While it is true that Bush and his administration grew the govt and spent trillions, Obama and the dems continued this pattern to an even greater degree. Neither side has a lock on fiscal responsibility so while we argue Dems v Repubs, they both have proven to be pretty bad.
The latest budget cuts are not even 1% of the deficit....both parties agreed on this "spending reduction".
In case you have not noticed, everyone (that wants to see this country survive) is questioning spending. Marginalizing one party in favor of the other is to be completely ignorant of the facts.

Yep. Both parties have steadily grown the government, increased entitlements, and been fiscally irresponsible. The ONLY reason I remain registered GOP is because the GOP does it somewhat more slowly than the Democrats generally do, and I want to be able to vote in our State's primary elections.

But as long as folks look for somebody to demonize and accuse and attack on a partisanship basis, but refuse to seriously look at any issue on its own merits , we will continue to elect irresponsible people to Congress and little or nothing will be done to correct anything.

OK but the Dems spend money that moves back through the economy. The Repubs spend money that leaves the economy.

Again, it is not a Dem v Repub problem. Both waste hugh sums of taxpayer dollars on earmarks, pet projects, paybacks for elections and etc. Dems make the same stupid moves as the Repubs. I choose not to take a partisan view as I stated that both parties have been irresponsible with tax dollars. The "yeah but" argument is a waste of time. State facts and not emotional evidence of how the money is spent. I think if you are honest with the real problem, you will agree both are complicit with wasteful spending while blaming each other in order to stay or get back in power. If what you state were true, the stimulus program would have reduced the unemployment numbers and the economy would be moving in a positive direction. Gas prices at 4+ per gallon and grocery prices at an all time high simply do not represent a move in the right direction. The Dems wanted no spending cuts and the Repubs could only come up with cuts that were less than 1% of the deficit. They don't even cover the interest payments on the money we owe China.

The question is who got the money and how/why did they get it?

Two point three trillion dollars "missing" and counting at the Pentagon. One point one trillion dollars "missing" at HUD. And the list goes on. Who is getting that money?

The banks are broke!??? When was the last time you saw a banker drive a 15 year old Plymouth with no muffler? Yeah, the banks are broke.

We have the military industrial complex, the homeland security industrial complex, and the prison industrial complex.

Not to mention the Fed.

Then we have social programs to help those who have had the economic rug pulled out from under them by the above.

Who is speaking up about these issues?

The government takes in as much as it can get. And for a very long time now it has spent much more than it takes in. And that is the best argument against not giving it any more to spend. We can point fingers and cast aspersions and accuse and blame til the cows come home and that won't fix anything.

The ONLY way to reverse the insane course we're on is to put Congress on a strict diet which means we limit how much they have to spend.
