Really, you believe that the Fukishima event has had no affect on the Pacific Ocean and it's NOT killing ocean life whatsoever.....is that your stance?????

Wait -- hold the presses --- "KILLING" ????????

So, are you also one of those that believe that the dumping of nuclear waste water in a last gasp attempt to cool the rods into the Pacific Ocean to prevent a meltdown of monumental proportions has little to no affect on the plant and sea life in the ocean????/ And you have come to this conclusion because?????

In the larger picture of that earthquake destruction with ENTIRE CITIES sucked into the ocean, it ONE of a myriad of concerns.

You weren't there to make the call. Certainly you fight the fire. You don't let it smolder. And for odd reasons, the Japanese ignored calls from the US and others to help out. Probably because of "saving Asian face" traditions.

I say all this because I've followed the evidence. My professional org is on top of this. And their reporting thru Spectrum Magazine and other award winning science sources laid out the facts. And the dilution of this "plume" as it enters the vast Pacific puts it WAY UNDER the background radiation levels that endanger health. That's why.

There is no thing as a "radiation free" environment. In fact a week or 2 AFTER Fukishima, some jerk (and I mean capital J --- Jerk) went out to a Cali beach with a Geiger counter and stirred up a hornet's nest of speculation and fear. Until it was determined that what he was reading was close to NORMAL for any beaches in that region of Cali.

That's why....

Ok, my brother....if you are willing to fish off of the west coast and then eat the catch? You have brass ones. I'm not afraid of dying and I am actually looking forward to it and the sooner the better...... but radiation poisoning isn't exactly the way that I wish to "run out the clock"......but that's just me.

I have no problem doing that. The reality of radiation is the really dangerous stuff is those isotopes with short half lives (under one year). The shorter the half life, the more gamma radiation it is emitting. It is the gamma radiation that is dangerous. Isotopes with long half lives are pumping out Alpha and Beta particles that can be stopped by a sheet of paper. The ONLY danger from those sorts of isotopes is the heavy metal poisoning that will ensue if you decide you want to eat it because that will kill you long before the radiation sickness will!

This has nothing to do with Fukishima does it? It's not even related to nuclear plants. Its a GOVT caused disaster at a WEAPONS plant. And it's BEEN an emergency for over 40 years. So is the Savannah River plant and parts of Oak Ridge Labs.. Call your CongressCritters. Demand they clean up after themselves....

Abstract
The large discharge of radioactivity into the northwest Pacific Ocean from the 2011 Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear reactor accident has generated considerable concern about the spread of this material across the ocean to North America. We report here the first systematic study to our knowledge of the transport of the Fukushima marine radioactivity signal to the eastern North Pacific. Time series measurements of 134Cs and 137Cs in seawater revealed the initial arrival of the Fukushima signal by ocean current transport at a location 1,500 km west of British Columbia, Canada, in June 2012, about 1.3 y after the accident. By June 2013, the Fukushima signal had spread onto the Canadian continental shelf, and by February 2014, it had increased to a value of 2 Bq/m3 throughout the upper 150 m of the water column, resulting in an overall doubling of the fallout background from atmospheric nuclear weapons tests. Ocean circulation model estimates that are in reasonable agreement with our measured values indicate that future total levels of 137Cs (Fukushima-derived plus fallout 137Cs) off the North American coast will likely attain maximum values in the 3–5 Bq/m3 range by 2015–2016 before declining to levels closer to the fallout background of about 1 Bq/m3 by 2021. The increase in 137Cs levels in the eastern North Pacific from Fukushima inputs will probably return eastern North Pacific concentrations to the fallout levels that prevailed during the 1980s but does not represent a threat to human health or the environment.
