Several thing strike me as incongruous about our politicians and political system. They're always fighting. I'll fight for you, I'll fight against, pick your favorite fight from the daily news.
They never finish the fight, send me back to continue the fight, read the campaign ad's.
Conversely, they never seem to win, or rarely. Obama won the fight on universal health care now he's got to fight to keep it, see what I mean. No, it's can't be amended to make it workable or better it's got to be abolished.
Another thing, Republicans fight each other because they are not Conservative enough. They have people who keep track of one's conservatism. Democrats don't seem to have that problem. I haven't seen democrats fight each other on who is more democratic.
