It's All Pelosi's Fault

and where does this person live? if they are working just to pay for school what do they pay their rent with? what do they buy food with? how do they pay for their utilities? how do they get to school?

you statement above is ignorant.

I would love to know where you live that a waitress can earn 20k in tips!...

4 tables of 4 customers per hour=16 customers@2 bucks a tip per person=32 bucks/hour......work for 6 hours=192 dollars per 6 hr. shift....5 shifts a week=
$960 a week....for 50 weeks....$48,000 a year....

and thats a cheap diner....

wow...Kids won't be able to go the college....

a whole generation that won't be brainwashed by the socialist, communist, or liberal professors.....

What a wonderful dream...if only...

Just like after WW II when a whole wave of people could now afford to go to college with the GI bill. Oh, how they ruined the world with their liberal thoughts.

Where did you get your brain washed? Go back and ask for a refund.

A whole generation that won't be able to go to graduate school. No more American doctors, lawyers, engineers, physicists, etc, etc.

What a wonderful dream. Sounds amazing. :cuckoo:
everything will drop in price, it will have to...the demand will be reduced so much that prices will fall...as with everything, you would think?

Lmfao. Care to cite me an independent source, not an organization whose goal it is to push for deregulation thinks that it wasn't caused by deregulation?

Oh, and it would be nice if you'd cite something more recent than 2001, something which perhaps took account of the Enron tapes and the obvious and clear manipulation of the market that was going on.

Not for necessities. Nor will it drop for school. Schooling can get a lot more expensive and still be a good investment, as long as you can get the credit for it.

A cheap diner that consistently is busy, and not very many restaurants are. Its hard to consistently get that much business.

I know waitresses, and I know they definitely don't make that much and people generally know to tip pretty well in my city.

You must know some bad waitresses or they work at bad restaurants. When I was a manager my dinner shift waitresses were making $70 on a slow night, $150 to $200 on the weekends. I got my start in the restaurant biz tending bar at Italian fine dining restaurants and I took in $120 for 6 hours easy work.

I KNEW you wouldn't even read the story and say it was a biased source. I'm beginning to believe that you're a typical partisan hack. Am I right?

I'll post this for non-partisan hacks that want to know the truth:

colleges have been raising their prices in double digit increases for a near decade now, WELL ABOVE INFLATION, they can stand a bubble burst themselves....

select college careers will pay off if you borrow the money, but many more are not now, i've read in different studies....basically, really pay attention to the field you choose or you may not get the payback we once got....

people will work harder for scholarships, fewer people will be able to get the loans, but not all of them will be denied...

the $700 billion bailout won't do much to help this mess in the long run the way it is writen, it can be made better, but even then, i do not believe for one nanosecond $700 billion will save the usa or world from all woes....

care

What? He said they made $32 an hour. The amounts you quoted are nowhere close to $32 an hour, except on weekends assuming a 6 hour shift.

And you probably worked at a nice restaurant. It was claimed that you could get $32 an hour at a "cheap diner".

They could, college should be much cheaper than it is now.

Generally you will be able to pay off. Its not so much that college means that you get a ton of money, but that lacking college means you get barely any. Graduate school is where it really pays off.

people will work harder for scholarships, fewer people will be able to get the loans, but not all of them will be denied...

They will if there is a complete credit freeze as some were talking about.

Not all woes, just this massive and giant fuckup that is the subprime lending meltdown.
