the us military did not lose anything. If George Bush gave the orders for the US military to empty lake michigan using coffee cups, or to cure cancer or to get the tampa bay devil rays to win the world series, if they were unable to accomplish those missions, it would not be a failure for the military, but the profoundly stupid mistake of George Bush asking the military to do something they were clearly incapable of doing. Winning the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people and getting sunnis and shiites to have a big group hug and quit their millenium-old hatred for one another is NOT a job for the US military...and it was dumb for Dubya to send them in to accomplish something so unachievable.
