Both of these leaders arrived on the scene in country at a time of hopelessness and broken dreams and both were embraced as something between a savior and a father. Both promoted themselves and tried to exert an agenda in thier minds as the solution to the problems of the day.

Both centralized the government from a point less central to a point more central than it had been under the then current set of laws.

Both needed full mobilization to rescue the failed economies and both were dead by the end of the war.

One great difference was that FDR flaunted law to impose his programs while Hitler simply swept the law away and imposed a dictatorship.

It's interesting that the major leaders of the time were all elevated by their populations as great men in times of adversity. FDR, Churchill, Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo were all de facto dictators in war time. They were all quite different as individuals in style and from quite different forms of government.

Their peoples and their times, though, made them all both savior and father.

Mussolini was subjected to the fate of those who disappoint in that position.

Your opinion is valid, but the connection between hitler and obama that I am trying to point out is how hitler came to power and how obama came to power. The video showed some striking connections.

Never said that but viewing the responces made by democrats it would appear that the GOP is the only one to blame.
