Kudzu was introduced from Japan into the United States in 1876 at the Philadelphia Centennial Exposition, where it was promoted as a forage crop and an ornamental plant. From 1935 to the early 1950s the Soil Conservation Service encouraged farmers in the Southeastern United States to plant kudzu to reduce soil erosion as above, and the Civilian Conservation Corps planted it widely for many years.

anyone who lives in the south knows the story of kudzu...we left the mountain yesterday and i realized how bad it was....we dont have it this high up...thankfully ...but it will take over an area...and you have to remove root crowns with saws....

Damn ... when it gets as far as here ... who do we sue?

people are idiots

Yeah let's just introduce all kinds of foreign plants into our ecosystem and then whine about it when these new plants choke out all of the indigenous plants.

How fucking stooooopid can you be?

it is done all the time skull and its just not here...ask the ozzies about cane toads ...camels and the like....

they introduced coyetes here for some reason...now they coyotes are kiling domestic animals.....gotta love it...

NY suffers from a similar problem.

In the 19th century, some douchebag decided to bring 'love bird's to NY to make the city more friendly.

He released a pair (just 2) and let nature take it's course.

'Love birds' are PIDGEONS.

Those stupid rats with wings that plague NY bred like wildfire because their were no preditor birds in New York.

Unintended consequences indeed.
