Issue 2 is Defeated in Ohio

Sounds like the working folk in Ohio are fighting back. The middle class has spoken tonight. A public worker making a salary of $50,000 is far from the problem. Kasich pushed too far way way too fast. He got served.

What's your theory on why Ohio voters rebuffed Obama's health care mandate? What was the middle class saying there?

Ohio voters rebuffed the health care mandate yes they did. They spoke up. At the same time they spoke up for the rights of middle class americans. Two successes. Victory for the middle class. Kasich and his cronies picked a fight. They pushed hard and they won a battle. Tonight those who were made the scapegoats for the states problems pushed back. Chalk one up for the middle class.

I'm sure all those voters will be happy when businesses start pulling up stakes because they can't afford to operate in Ohio with those taxes...

no one is pulling up stakes because municipal employees are not divested of their collective bargaining rights.

No, they are pulling up stakes because they can't afford to pay the taxes needed to support a union boss making a six figure salary....

Which is exactly what happened here in IL. Governor Quinnochhio raised taxes after promising not to, and factories are closing down and moving to other states.

REALLY????

The wording was terrible, it was a teaparty led issue and really doesn't mean much as far as federal healthcare goes. Non issue. It was far overshadowed by issue 2.

The Democrats wanted to keep the focus on collective bargaining. I'm glad they did.

One of those stories was back from 2010, BEFORE Quinn raised taxes. I didn't really bother with them.

We have these much more recent stories..

Herrin Whirlpool Plant Closing - 1000 Jobs Lost - KFVS12 News & Weather Cape Girardeau, Carbondale, Poplar Bluff

Herrin, IL - For the past four decades Southern Illinois families have made a good living at the old Maytag plant in Herrin, Illinois. But that all changed on Wednesday morning when workers were called into a general meeting at the facility.

"We were working the assembly line and they shut it down. And then they sent us all to the warehouse to tell us it was over. That they were shutting down by the end of the year. It was heartbreaking," says Katrena Sims of Herrin.

In a July 5 notice to the state of Illinois under the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notice Act, the Atlanta-based company said 68 employees would be affected by the closing, which would begin Aug. 30 and end Sept. 12.

Company officials and those from the union representing Elk Grove employees were unavailable for comment. Telephone calls made to the plant in late September were not answered.

Court: Illinois plant didn’t violate UAW contract by closing | LaborUnionReport.com

CHICAGO (AP) — An automotive parts manufacturer did not violate a collective bargaining agreement by closing its plant in central Illinois and moving production to its non-unionized factory in Kentucky, a federal appellate court ruled Friday.

The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals backed a lower court ruling that ZF Boge Elastmetall never made commitments to the United Auto Workers that it would keep open its plant in Paris, a town about 150 miles east of Springfield near the Indiana border.

Now sit down, shut up and stop lying. Hope and Change, baby, Hope and Change.

Im aware that the GOP is trying to prevent voter fraud. Which surprisingly a large number of Democrats oppose. I say large number, because there are quite a few Democrats who agree with voter IDs being necessary.

The drawing is a fantasy. It's something that cant happen and no one is seeking.

But when have Democrats had problems lying about whats going on?

The GOP is trying to prevent voting.

The incidents of voting fraud are extremely low.

These bills are to suppress legitimate voters like those in the cartoon.

The GOP hates liberty.
