Issa: Obama Admin Ignored Requests for Increased Security in Libya- Hearings

Today, Reps. Issa and Chaffetz sent a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton asking why requests for more protection at the Benghazi embassy were denied. Rep. Issa is the Chairman of the House Oversight Committee and Rep. Chaffetz is the Chairman of the subcommittee on National Security, Homeland Defense and Foreign Operations. The full committee will hold a hearing on October 10, 2012 to assess the security situation preceding the terrorist attack of September 11.

Yes!!!!!!!!!! They're not going to let this Appeasement Admin get away with this!! Go Daryl Issa! :clap2:

Daryl Issa is the richest man in Congress. If he thinks our embassies aren't adequately protected, let him pay for increased security.

And, by the way....where was he before the attack in Benghazi happened?

What a sick fuck you are.....
Obama killed those people by his sins of omission.
HIS job as CIC demanded he protect our people in the field, he didn't do it.

Obama had added dereliction of duty to his list of failures.

]

It's not his job. Since when do you libtards get off assigning rich Americans fiscal responsibilities? I think Embassy security falls under the Department of STate.. so call Hilary asswipe.

Ok, but what did Issa have to say about security for our staff overseas before Benghazi?

nothing but blowing smoke, oldguy.

Blowing smoke? Show me Issa's concerns about security for our staff overseas before the political opportunity of the attack at Benghazi gave him the chance to appear serious about it?

I doubt that Issa knew about consulate security until he found out like the rest of us that there wasn't any. I don't think anyone realized that Obama was either stupid enough or narcissistic enough to not have security at the Libyan consulate. It makes no sense as Libya has been touted as the crown jewel of Obama's foreign policy. You would have thought that he would know every detail of what was going on there. Instead, he believed his own hype that because he was president that the terrorists would love us.

Back in the mid-1950s, assignment to the security detachment of a foreign embassy ("embassy duty") was so desirable it was a popular re-enlistment inducement for Marines. If it's still a desirable assignment today, I wonder what effect the Benghazi debacle will have on that situation.

In other words, it wasn't one of his priorities, or he just didn't care until the opportunity presented itself...right?

Wait a minute. Issa didn't know, but Obama was too stupid or narcissistic?

Could it be that ISSA was too stupid or narcissistic, or that Obama didn't know either? Why is it different?

What? Do you REALLY think this President, or ANY President, gets real-time updates about the goings on at all our multiple embassies and consulate offices around the world?

You can't be serious. What do you think a President does all day? Just sit around and monitor local events and trends?

Instead, he believed his own hype that because he was president that the terrorists would love us.

If that's anything more than your personal opinion, prove it.

Ummm......The state dept. was in a state of flux re-assigning, laying off and otherwise determining how to provide more security in certain areas DUE TO THE REPUBLICAN CONGRESS cutting the security budget by $300 million.

Rep. Connolly: State Dept. Budget Cuts Partly to Blame for 9/11 Libya Attack

Rep. Gerald Connolly (D-Va.), in an interview with Washington, D.C., radio station WTOP on Monday, stood by comments he made that Congress deserves some of the blame for the deaths of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others because it failed to give President Obama all the money he had requested for embassy security – and had cut the State Department’s budget overall.

...

Rep. Gerald Connolly (D-Va): Absolutely, Congress in the last few years, especially has consistently cut President Obama’s request for security for our embassies and consulates overseas. And it has also consistently cut the overall budget for the State Department, and... that's a contributing factor to slowing down our ability to sort of harden and fortify embassies and other facilities abroad so they are as safe as they can be.

Issa is a joke.

He failed to find anything with Fast & Furious.

He'll fail here too.

FAIL thread.:clap2:
Yes, Issa is a joke.
Cons are throwing stuff against the wall hoping anything sticks. They are really showing their desperation.

when you try to make excuses for this type of thing, that is desperation. There is not the first time Embassy employees have been killed under this administration. Mexico last year as well, did not include the Ambassador though, so not much was made of it by the media. Really sad.

Issa is not the fucking President of the country, dipshit. It was not HIS JOB to know about embassy security.

OBAMA IS THE FUCKING PRESIDENT, AND IT IS HIS JOB TO KNOW ABOUT EMBASSY SECURITY.

If that was the case, why didn't the State Dept. say so? Instead, the came out with these fairy tales about a video caused the rioting and they were totally shocked about the outcome.

If the Congress was the sole cause of the embassies not being secured, the would have lost no time coming out and blaming them! That is their pattern...blaming anyone other than themselves. They would have been elated in saying, "We wanted more security for these important places, but our hands were tied due lack of funding and the Republicans in Congress!"

LOL.....he was moved to the "safe house" in Benghazi because of threats.....he was moved by Lybian Security Forces...Obama has blood on his hands, American Blood.

do you not think he should be getting security briefings on a daily basis? The fact there had been threats given to the State Dept. should have been enough to have it brought to his attention. And you see, there seems to be another tidbit that should have prompted them to remove them from Libya entirely or added additional security detail. This is just more added to what is already known. Who is responsible for actions of the State Dept., by the way?
The U.S. consulate in Libya was attacked twice in the months leading up to the deadly attack that claimed the lives of four Americans, it was revealed today.

Come now, you really aren't so dense as to think your sad deflections are going to convince anyone that this is not Obama's mess are you? Consulate security is the responsibility of the State Department. The State Department is part of the Executive branch. Do you see how this works?

And what does the president do all day if he doesn't attend intelligence briefings? What do you think are presidential activities for the head of the Executive branch?
