Spy images obtained by Israel apparently show linkage between Syria and North Korea regarding the Syrian reactor bombed by Israel in 2007. When the bombing occurred there was skepticism, including in the US, that the destroyed site was a nuclear reactor under construction. Now the US agrees that it was, and that the reactor was not for peaceful purposes. The Syrians are still denying everything. How can NK be trusted to keep any agreements reached in the Six Party NK nuke disarmament talks?

Syria 'had covert nuclear scheme'

The United States has accused North Korea of helping Syria build a nuclear reactor that "was not intended for peaceful purposes".

The site, said to be like one in North Korea, was bombed by Israel in 2007.

Syria must "come clean" about its secret nuclear programme, the White House said in a statement after CIA officials briefed members of Congress.

Syria has repeated denials that it has any nuclear weapons programme, or any such agreement with North Korea...

...The CIA briefings included pictures which the US says prove that North Koreans were working inside the secret site.

One of the images, which shows two men standing side by side, was said by the CIA to be of the head of the North Korean nuclear plant and the head of the Syrian atomic energy commission together in Syria.

The images - said to have been obtained by Israel - showed striking similarities between the Syrian facility and the North Korean reactor at Yongbyon, the US said.

However, the facility was not yet operational and there was no fuel for the reactor, officials said.

Nuke weapons technology metastasizes like a malignancy. I remember reading that NK got much of its nuke weapons know-how from the Pakis in exchange for NK ballistic missile technology. The Pakis it is said got their nuke weapons tech from China which at the time was seeking a proxy to threaten India.

and Russia is spoonfeeding Iran ....

How do you know those pictures are even inside Syria?

You don't. You are taking a leap of faith, nothing more.

What you're doing is parroting the latest press release from an U.S executive administration carrying a giant sized creditability problem.

What "truth" is that?

Care to make a claim?

I'll ask again, since obviously authoring an original post remains a weakness of yours.

In the above post, I fail to see any "facts," but rather a lot of conjecture, speculation and baseless claims. In fact, its a poorly written ambiguous article.

Believe what you want.

This is not an issue where belief comes into play at all. That is the logic of a partisan.

Faith and belief have no place in a case with such a serious allegation.

This issue is about the facts formulating the conclusions not Allie Baba or the TheGoodShepherd "believing" a certain viewpoint.

I'll ask again, how do you, or I know the pictures Israel claims to be of a Syrian nuclear reactor, is really from the inside of the alleged Syrian reactor?

Why didn't Israel and Washington take their evidence to the IAEA as is the proper protocol within international law?

If the evidence is so obvious, why completely ignore the vetting organization established to independently verify such claims?

Right...because of course we wouldn't believe Israel, right.... that would just be too political for you, I'm sure.

How about the fact that Syria isn't denying it. Does that help you?

Belief has nothing to do with it.

This is a serious claim with serious allegations that need to be substantiated with concrete evidence and not grainy "photos," whose genesis could have begun anywhere and by anybody.

Already, proper protocol has been violated. instead of choosing the route of transparency, Israel chose to ignore the IAEA.

Israel and the current executive administration do not have a track record of honesty and accuracy.

The IAEA certainly does. They nailed in right on the head with the WMD questions in 2003.

Sure it does. At some point, you have to make an educated decision about who to believe. Otherwise, you will withhold judgment until you are able to put on black ninja clothes yourself and check out the situation yourself. Are you going to do that? If not, then according to your premise, you can never know anything about anything. Unless you see it yourself.
