Israeli peace activist: Hamas leader Jabari killed amid talks on long-term truce

Jews never gave up hope of returning to our ancestors' land. We prayed for it 3x a day, and fasted on Tisha B'av. It was our hope for two thousand years, like it says in Hatikva--Israel's national anthem. If you've ever visited Israel, you'd see the country is full of Jewish history. I don't know why it bothers you so much that the Jews have a tiny sliver of land to call our own.
As I understand it, the Jordan River is the Eastern boundary of the Land of Israel.
If that holds true for the present, then Israel will have to choose between being a democratic state or a Jewish state.
What would your choice be?

Israelis and "Palestinians" will have to work that out, Princess. :D
Do you expect that process to be decided by one person; one vote, or will it be decided the same way it was in 1948?

"The history of the Palestinian exodus is closely tied to the events of the war in Palestine, which lasted from 1947 to 1949, and to the political events preceding it.

"In September 1949, the United Nations Conciliation Commission for Palestine estimated 711,000 Palestinian refugees existed outside Israel,[25] with about one-quarter of the estimated 160,000 Palestinian Arabs remaining in Israel as 'internal refugees'.

"The Palestinians say they were evicted at bayonet-point and by panic deliberately incited by the Zionists.[26]

"Efraim Karsh believes that the Israeli government never took such a 'simplistic, single-cause viewpoint'.[27] Walid Khalidi[28][29] and Ilan Pappé say that the expulsion was based on a deliberate policy.[30]

"Based on the protocols of Israel's cabinet meetings, the Haganah Archive in Tel Aviv, and the IDF and Israel Defense Ministry Archive in Givatayim,[31] a number of historians have concluded that around half the Palestinians who became refugees were evicted by the Israeli army but this was not an organized policy."

In 1948 and again in 1967, Israel made big steps to naturalize Palestinians living in annexed territories.

The Druze in the Golan, for example, have virtually all accepted citizenship, been given access to world-class education and healthcare for free, and volunteer for the army. They are free to travel anywhere in Israel, including the “Arab free” roads in Judea and Samaria. They have Israeli passports and enjoy every freedom given to people in the Western, democratic world.

The Palestinians living in cities like Umm Al-Faham, Haifa, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem were all given the same offer. In Haifa, Israeli Arabs live next door to Israeli Jews in peace. I will admit that there are problems. Racism is a major issue. There is some segregation between neighborhoods, but that is no different from “Black neighborhoods” and “Mexican neighborhoods” and “White neighborhoods” in the United States. They are all given the same rights.

So why do the Palestinians treat the Jews differently?

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas made it clear that a future state called Palestine will not be a home to Jews.

“We have frankly said, and always will say: If there is an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, we won’t agree to the presence of one Israeli in it.”

WHY DID ROCKET FIRE ACTUALLY INCREASE RIGHT AFTER ISRAEL LEFT GAZA??

YOU WON'T RECEIVE AN ANSWER TO EITHER QUESTION. HE'S TOO BUSY SWALLOWING. ( I DON'T MEAN TURKEY) :clap2: FOR THAT REASON ALONE ISRAEL WILL NEVER GO BACK TO BORDERS THAT WERE NEVER RECOGNIZED IN THE FIRST PLACE OR GIVE UP ANY OF JERUSALEM

from Georgie the islamo nazi>>>

Did those TRUTH TELLERS value to rights of Jews and non-Jews equally?

Georgie---you ask an interesting question. I understand you have
read the islamo nazi pig literature and assume it to be true----well---it isn't
Jewish jurisprudence, unlike islamic "shariah" regards all persons to be
of equal value -----UNLIKE the jurisprudence of HUMMARABI which
involved a caste system in which rights even in court were determined by
CASTE-----something like the islamic system if you consider non muslims
to be a VERY LOW CASTE. In the islamic system, the TESTIMONY of
a non muslim cannot be considered at all if it contradicts that of a muslim
As to legal "rights" ----non muslims have virtually none.

an example>>> The murder of a non muslim by a muslim is not a
capital crime-----which is why the PM of pakistan convened a
BRITISH STYLE court for the killers of Daniel Pearl. If you recall,
the murderers themselves VIDEOED the event. They did to
for good reason. THE VIDEO WOULD BE USED TO PROVE
THEM INNOCENT IN A SHARIAH COURT. Daniel Pearl died
a jew------if he had mumbled the little line muslims mumble
about "allah and pig muhummad" his killing would be
a "murder" Those smart muslim boys had PROOF he did
not----he eveb admitted to being a ZIONIST

In the islamic shit hole in which my husband was born,
the killing of a jew is a crime if the IMAM of his
community complains------the penalty to the
killer could be that His community give up one of
their jews to the Imam of the community of the dead
guy Another possbile penalty is a payment of
1/4 the standard value of a muslim's life

When did Abbas tell any Jew where to live?
Arabs are not allowed to live without harassment in Area C, or in certain Jew only communities within Israel proper.
When did any Arab echo Moshe Dayan's 1970 message to Palestinian refugees in the territories that "we have no solution, you shall continue to live like dogs, and whoever wishes may leave, and we will see where the proces leads"?

Where do you see that process leading.

When did Abbas tell any Jew where to live?

Abbas has made it very clear that " Palestine" is to be a NJA State but that in not racist? Leave it to Pro- Palestinian Mentality

Arabs are not allowed to live without harassment in Area C, or in certain Jew only communities within Israel proper.

Abbas has declared " Palestine" a NJA State, Jews are NOT allowed in other Countries ( why aren't you yelling " racism) yet you honestly expect Jews to be concerned about Arabs. Typical Pro- Palestinian mentality; THE DOUBLE STANDARD

When did any Arab echo Moshe Dayan's 1970 message to Palestinian refugees in the territories that "we have no solution, you shall continue to live like dogs, and whoever wishes may leave, and we will see where the proces leads"?

Where do you see that process leading.

Dayan was right. The Arabs had a solution and they blew it three times; in 1917, 1948, and before 1967. That isn't Israel's fault. The Arab " solution" is to eventually eliminate Israel and every Jew in it. Do you see anything wrong with that? Of course you don't.

How did the Arabs "blow it" in 1917?
If you're referring to the Balfour Declaration, some Arabs might have noticed how his majesty's royal assent for a Jewish Homeland in Palestine happened to occur at the same time the Royal Navy was switching from coal to oil to power its fleets.

The Arabs did make huge mistakes in '48 and '67, but even those blunders don't give Jews the right to rule over all the land between the Mediterranean Sea and Jordan River today.

who says so georgie? who gives land to people? what is the distance between the Mediterranean and the Jordan? People here might be confusing your description as if it is FROM THE PACIFIC TO THE ATLANTIC OCEAN-------- who gave "JORDAN" to a pile of bedouins? Why is a desert nomad the KING of a land which is nothing like a desert?

from georgie

Did the Old Testament Jews value the well-being of Jew and non-Jew equally?

the thing you call the "OLD TESTAMENT" is a book Your question makes no sense at all, Georgie I can help----do you mean DID THE JEWS mentioned in the "OLD TESTAMENT" value jews and non jews equally? Probably not-------did the greeks of that time "value" the persians and the greeks "equally"???

do the french of today value the germans of today and themselves "equally'???

you get more and more idiotic by the second

did you ever read the bible? I will help you-----one of the PROMINENT features of the book of GENESIS-----is the outright rejection of the CASTE SOCIETY of Mesopotamia in which laws were applied VERY UNEQUALLY based on CASTE. The concept of equality in COURTS is virtually an innovation ------in that area of the world where BABYLON and EGYPT were the norms

Israel is NEVER going to go back to Borders that were NEVER recognized in the first place which would mean they would be denied a NJA in W. Jerusalem, allow " Right of Return" which would mean EVENTUALLY ( not right away) Palestinians would outnumber Jews and Israel would disappear. That is what you Slugs want and it isn't going to happen. When Israel withdrew from Gaza why didn't the Rockets stop? Why did they actually increase? I KNOW!!!! IT'S THAT DAMN OLD TESTAMENT! Jews can play the same game. You accuse the Israelis of treating the Palestinians like animals? It must be because of what they say about Jews in their soiled toilet paper known as the QURAN !

Notice how these Pro- Palestinian S**MBAGS refuse to answer just ONE question? ( Because they can't) When two or more parties " negotiate" it means that each have to compromise/ give up something ( it usually is one more then the other). Exactly what are the Palestinians willing to do? The answer is; NOTHING. For that reason alone " Palestine" will never happen

The Saudi " Peace " Plan
Code:

Saudi Crown prince Abdullah floated an Arab peace plan that was discussed and modified at am Arab League summit conference in Beirut in March of 2002. The original plan called for peace with Israel in return for Israeli withdrawal from all territories. It was announced as such in a very idiosyncratic way, through a New York Times column by Thomas Friedman. In presenting the plan at the Beirut conference, Abdullah added a significant but ambiguous condition: return of the Palestinian refugees. However, he did not specify whether refugees were to be "returned" to Israel or to the Palestinian state that would be created.

The plan as adopted calls for Israeli withdrawal from all territories occupied since 1967 and return of the Palestine refugees to Israel in return for recognition of Israel and normal relations. The difference is that much more emphasis was placed on the refugee issue. A similar plan was offered by Arab states at the armistice negotiations in 1949. The number of refugees to be returned is not specified. A section included at the insistence of Lebanon reads,

" Assures the rejection of all forms of Palestinian patriation which conflict with the special circumstances of the Arab host countries"

assuaging Lebanese fears of permanent settlement of Palestinians in Lebanon. Inclusion of this clause may indicate that something less than full return of the refugees is contemplated. UN General Assembly Resolution 194, mentioned in the plan, asserts the right of Palestinian refugees who are willing to live in peace with their neighbors to return to Israel.

As there are currently over three million such refugees with an exceedingly high birthrate, literal implementation of return would eventually mean the end of the Jewish state of Israel.

Regarding the above, that is what S**MBAGS like you want... It's not going to happen. Keep swallowing till it does

I believe that Israel made a grave and irresponsible strategic error by deciding to kill Mr. Jabari. No, Mr. Jabari was not a man of peace; he didn’t believe in peace with Israel and refused to have any direct contact with Israeli leaders and even nonofficials like me. My indirect dealings with Mr. Jabari were handled through my Hamas counterpart, Ghazi Hamad, the deputy foreign minister of Hamas, who had received Mr. Jabari’s authorization to deal directly with me. Since Mr. Jabari took over the military wing of Hamas, the only Israeli who spoke with him directly was Mr. Shalit, who was escorted out of Gaza by Mr. Jabari himself. (It is important to recall that Mr. Jabari not only abducted Mr. Shalit, but he also kept him alive and ensured that he was cared for during his captivity.)

Passing messages between the two sides, I was able to learn firsthand that Mr. Jabari wasn’t just interested in a long-term cease-fire; he was also the person responsible for enforcing previous cease-fire understandings brokered by the Egyptian intelligence agency. Mr. Jabari enforced those cease-fires only after confirming that Israel was prepared to stop its attacks on Gaza. On the morning that he was killed, Mr. Jabari received a draft proposal for an extended cease-fire with Israel, including mechanisms that would verify intentions and ensure compliance. This draft was agreed upon by me and Hamas’s deputy foreign minister, Mr. Hamad, when we met last week in Egypt.

Moshe Dayan called it in 1970 when the told Palestinian refugees living in the territories "we have no solution, you shall continue to live like dogs, and whoever wishes may leave, and we will see where the process leads."

It leads to the same place White South Africa found.

How do we even know that Dayan actually said that? There are so many fake quotes on the hate sites, and people like you salivate over them and take them as the truth. With regard to Dayan, a poster on another message board, on a trip to Israel, went to the newspaper office who supposedly printed one of these fake quotes (as reported on the hate sites). They looked up their archives and found that they had never printed that in their paper, but it still didn't stop the anti-Semites like you from using these fake quotes.
