Once America elects Herman Cain to the White House, us Americans will way so high Israel! But I digress, 5.8% unemployment in the Middle East is astonishing. Compare that to her Arab, African and Persian (heck across the pond European) neighbors, who thing 30% unemployment is fricking awesome! Israel is a tiny country, under constant threat of war and subject to numerous boycotts and biased media, but still finds a way to kill ass economically. That 5.8% is skewed high as a matter of fact. The Israeli Arab unemployment is very high, most due to their own doing.

In fact, US military aid to Israel hurts the Israeli economy but boosts the US economy. Many of the items Israel buys from US firms, such as anti tank missiles, are manufactured by Israeli firms that export them. If Israel stopped buying these items from US firms and began buying them from Israeli firms, it would help Israel's unemployment numbers go even lower, but it would tend to drive the US' unemployment numbers even higher.

The suggestion has been made by some on the right that a portion of the US military aid should be refused so that Israel can buy with its own money items that are produced by Israeli firms. Unquestionably, this would create more Israeli jobs, and without analyzing how quickly money spent in Israeli defense industries circulates through the economy, it is impossible to say how close the increased tax revenues from these expenditures would come to the amount of the additional outlays by the Israeli government.

Don't go overboard. The choosen people are still the Americans! Israel has a good economy, but they still have a long way to go with poverty levels, energy efficiency and military independence.

America would and should be back on top if leftist fools like you and Sallow would just get out of our way and stop trying to change the best country in the world.

Israel can be a diamond in the rough. Like Signapore, they can only get so far because of their size. However, America can and should be the undisputed kings of the world.
