There is much more to this story than was released from a few isolated documents.

1) Why dredge up something that happened eons ago? Do you spend all your time scouring the bowels of the Internet for anti-Israel stories?

2) Even if true, what's so shameful about it? The Falklands are right off the coast of Argentina, who wanted to liberate the islands. Israel showed no disloyalty to Britain because they were never the best of friends. The Jews had to fight Britain to gain independence.

There is a technical and tactical advantage to maintaining a dependency on the logistical trail; spare parts and long range fuel tanks needed to keep these aircraft in action against the British Task Force. There is an combat engagement advantage in keeping the Argentine dependent on their aging A-4 Skyhawk fleet. And a huge intelligence advantage if Argentina were to have bought reconnaissance aircraft designed to gather electronic and signals intelligence (ELINT/SIGINT). Countries all over the world pay big money to understand the capabilities and limitations of such systems. In this case, the UK was about to have this handed to them at no expense. (Some of this you can figure-out yourself if you ask the right interrogatives.)

Although at first glance, it may sound like Israeli was providing aid to an enemy of our ally, that is not totally correct. Any more than the fact that Major-General Sir Frederic Glubb (Pasha) (and staff), provided the leadership and guidance necessary, in the 1948/49 Israeli War of Independence, for the Arab Legion to achieve critical goals and objectives in the occupation of selected territory.

Secret documents recently declassified by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office from the 1980s shed light on Israeli involvement in the Falklands War in 1982. According to the document, Israel supplied fighter jets and other weapons to Argentina's military junta at the height of the war with Britain.

During the war, Israel (Sold) Skyhawk jets to Argentina which were used to bomb British warships killing dozens of soldiers and sailors. One of the ships that was bombed by the Israeli-supplied fighter jets was the ‘RFA Sir Galahad’, which was set ablaze killing 48 people, marking one of the most traumatic episodes in the British experience of the war.

Israel denied that it ever sold fighter jets to Argentina at first, but British soldiers who occupied the islands reported encountering Israeli made weapons on the islands. It was only two years after the war ended that Israel admitted to supplying the Argentines with weapons.

It really doesn't matter today, what happened a century ago under an entirely different world. By whatever the means it occurred, it came to pass that the territorial outline of Israel came into being nearly a half century ago. It is the most Humanly Developed nation in the entire region; out stripping every other regional nation between Turkey to Morocco and the Mediterranean Sea and the Persian Gulf. No nation in the entire Arab League rates high on the Human Development Index than Israel --- NONE!

Israel does not want to overcome any Arab League member, as it is, on its own, more successful that Arab Challenger, anywhere in the league. It is in the national interest of every Arab League member that Israel continue to prosper and grow. No one benefits form the destruction of the Jewish State --- even the surrounding Arab States.
