Israel ranks among the most corrupt countries in the Western world, according to a study released by the International Transparency Organization on Tuesday. / Out of 178 countries - 1 being least corrupt - Israel was listed at number 30. But when compared to other member states of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, Israel fared much worse. / In May 2010, the OECD unanimously voted in favor of accepting Israel as a member of the group. However, Israel is the organization's poorest member, with the widest social gaps.

Israel is not part of the western world, it's part of the Middle East

Angel Gurría, OECD Secretary-General, Paris29 June 2010, France

We are gathered here to celebrate Israel's Accession Agreement to the OECD.

As you know, accession to the OECD is an extremely rigorous and demanding process. Over the last three years, Israel has undergone in-depth reviews with 18 OECD Committees, which have scrutinised its policies in diverse fields, from investment to anti-corruption, from environment to fiscal affairs, from public governance to science and technology.

Indeed, for Israel, as for our other new and prospective Members, the successful conclusion of the accession process is not the end of the road. In fact, it is just the beginning of a process of mutual learning. And I would like to stress the “mutual” in this process. In fact, in certain areas, OECD countries have a lot to learn from Israel’s experience.

I can make specific examples how the “Israeli model” and its expertise can enrich the OECD.

Israel is a young and dynamic country whose economy has developed under difficult circumstances. Its success in extracting itself from huge macroeconomic problems of hyperinflation and massive public debt in the late 1980s and early 1990s is an experience that is widely quoted. This policy experience underscores the very critical role that good policy responses play on growth and confidence. As such it is of outmost relevance to all countries.

Israel’s valuable perspective on promoting innovation, science and technology is another example. In particular, policies encouraging small, high-tech firms through grants, business incubators and so on appear to have been highly successful and may be a model other countries wish to emulate. So, we certainly look forward to Israel bringing diverse and valuable policy perspectives and expertise to the OECD.

The OECD has firmly established its place in the global economic architecture. It is gratifying that new countries – and successful reformers, such as Israel – recognise the value of our Organisation and wish to join us in our endeavours.

Ambassador, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Our relevance lies in our diversity. We are honoured to have Israel and the other new accession countries as our partners and colleagues in building a stronger, cleaner and fairer world economy. I would like to congratulate your country on all of its impressive achievements throughout the accession process.

Israel is exceptional. I can give you an absolute, unequivocal answer. You can go around the world and it's very impressive to see a country of 7 million create a business like this, I haven't seen anything like this in the US.

When you think about it, if you compare Israel (now) to 1948, it's very, very impressive. It's a remarkable place

NGO Transparency International places Israel behind the Cyprus and UAE in perceived lack of corruption, bottom third of OECD.

Israel did fairly well in comparison to most countries ranked in the annual Corruption Perception Index for 2010, released Tuesday by the global NGO Transparency International. The country ranked 30 out of 178 in perceived lack of corruption and anti-corruption efforts, with an index score of 6.1 based on six surveys of corruption conducted within the state. In comparison, three quarters of the 178 countries covered in the report received a corruption index score below the rank of 5.

According to the Transparency International methodology, the 2010 index draws on "different assessments and business opinion surveys carried out by independent and reputable institutions" to "capture information about the administrative and political aspects of corruption."

The 2010 results were drawn from 13 surveys and assessments from around the globe published between January 2009 and September 2010. The non-profit stated that the surveys and assessments used to compile the index generally include questions "relating to bribery of public officials, kickbacks in public procurement, embezzlement of public funds, and questions that probe the strength and effectiveness of public sector anti-corruption efforts."

The top five countries in 2010 in the fight against corruption according to the report were Denmark, New Zealand, Singapore - all of which are tied for first with a score of 9.3 - followed closely by Finland and Sweden with scores of 9.2. Countries at the bottom of the list - those perceived to be most corrupt and lax in fighting corruption - include Somalia (1.1), Myanmar (1.4), Afghanistan (1.4) and Iraq (1.5).

Israel's place on the list ranked it just behind the United Arab Emirates and Cyprus (both 6.3) and not far from France (6.8) and Estonia (6.5) in terms of perceived "cleanliness" and freedom from graft. However, Israel's rank placed it in the bottom third among fellow OECD countries in the perceived level of "cleanliness" and anti-corruption efforts, still ahead of Mexico, Greece, Italy, Slovakia, Turkey, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, South Korea, Portugal and Spain.

Among the major English-speaking countries, Canada fared the best in the sixth spot (8.9), followed by Australia (8.7). The US was placed at number 22 (7.1).

According to the Transparency International criteria, Middle Eastern countries Kuwait and Qatar showed improvement in the perceived anti-corruption efforts in 2010, while in Israel no change was found. Among OECD countries the US, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, and Italy all experienced drops in perceived anti-corruptions efforts from 2009 to 2010 in the aftermath of the global financial crisis.

The claim isn't worth the paper it was written on.
I wanted to see where the U.S. was rated at...well whaddya' know - we now have the best rating we have ever had.
That wouldn't have anything to do with our current President being popular among those who do the study would it? naaaah.

You must mean, our president who received a Nobel Peace Prize from the same Libtards in Europe, even though Obama had been in office for just a few weeks.

1.5 billion Muslims are a lot of locusts.
Winston Churchill...
How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy.

The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.

A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it.

No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.

USA Today: Muslim Locusts Loot Greenhouses Gifted By Jews...:clap2:
Palestinians looted dozens of greenhouses on Tuesday, walking off with irrigation hoses, water pumps and plastic sheeting in a blow to fledgling efforts to reconstruct the Gaza Strip.

American Jewish donors had bought more than 3,000 greenhouses from Israeli settlers in Gaza for $14 million last month and transferred them to the Palestinian Authority. Former World Bank President James Wolfensohn, who brokered the deal, put up $500,000 of his own cash.

Palestinian police stood by helplessly Tuesday as looters carted off materials from greenhouses in several settlements, and commanders complained they did not have enough manpower to protect the prized assets. In some instances, there was no security and in others, police even joined the looters, witnesses said.

"We need at least another 70 soldiers. This is just a joke," said Taysir Haddad, one of 22 security guards assigned to Neve Dekalim, formerly the largest Jewish settlement in Gaza. "We've tried to stop as many people as we can, but they're like locusts."

"War attracts corruption like corpses attract flies."

James Brooks starts with the above observation then goes on to document Israel's six decade slide into moral decay.

"We are nearing the end of the fourth decade of Israel's chronic war of occupation of Palestinian lands.

"The web of corruption spun by this festering wound has had plenty of time to reach into the deepest nooks and crannies of both Palestinian and Israeli societies.

"America's decisive support of Israel's war, including more than 100 billion dollars and dozens of UN vetoes, has ensnared us in the same web.

"To sustain the unending flow of money and materiel, American politics has had to yield to the ways of the war: lies, denial, and intimidation

"At this point, it's difficult to understand anyone's surprise or indignation at the state of Palestinian society in the territories.

"What would your community be like, after suffering nearly a century of colonial hell under the British and the Israelis, being driven off your land and made stateless refugees nearly sixty years ago?

"If now you were being fenced and walled inside the scraps of your last refuge, could your once strong and resilient social fabric resist unraveling into corruption, gang warfare, and economic destitution?"

The US, Israel, and most non-Jewish inhabitants of what was once Mandate Palestine are all swirling the same drain, thanks to rich parasites who feed off war the same way flies flies swarm the dead.

Spoils...

Open a history book, dummy. The Ottoman Turks (Muslims) colonized "Palestine" for 400 years.

The Muslim Mamluks colonized "Palestine" for another 300 years.

That's 3/4 of a millennium of Muslim colonialism, dummy.

Your history lesson for the day :clap2:

Mandate Palestine.

1,220,000 Arab Muslims and Christians.

650,000 Jews.

And the Arabs have to leave the land of Canaan?

Doesn't that sound racist to you?

After all...

The Jews have Manhattan.
