Israel costs USA 1.6 trillion $

If it weren't for the Israeli lobby, and oil, we wouldn't care any more about what happens in the Middle East than we've cared what's happened in the Congo for the past 30 years.

Liberal antisemitism also can't be curtailed.

Do you know what anti-semitism even is?

The best part is watching them try to explain why Jews who think Israel's positions are crazy are anti-Semites.

Or why American Jews vote overwhelmingly Democratic.

People like bripat will mock the playing of the race card in situations involving blacks, and yet they'll turn around and play the anti-semite card every time the subject of Israel comes up.

Since 1973, Israel has cost the United States about $1.6 trillion. If divided by today's population, that is more than $5,700 per person.
This is an estimate by Thomas Stauffer, a consulting economist in Washington. For decades, his analyses of the Middle East scene have made him a frequent thorn in the side of the Israel lobby.

Money spent well?
Just because I know it will tick you off...

yep. money well spent.

Better than what's being wasted on Obamacare and other entitlements which are more expensive than this.

There are a lot of stupid liberals out there.

Providing medical treatment to sick Americans is waste, but giving a massive handout to a foreign country is "money well spent".

Comparatively? yes. By far.

Free market is ALWAYS better for domestic needs with few exceptions like roads, fire departments, police and military. And even THEN some of that is in serious question now.

Which is better? Spending 10 dollars for a gum drop or getting 10 gumdrops for 10 cents?

Markets work better in general, but the problem is that they don't work for health care. People want the best treatment available. No one wants to have their knee replacement at Bob's Discount Joint Warehouse.

Seriously?

You really believe that American would be better if everyone's health was proportionately reflected by their ability to pay for healthcare? The less money you have, the sicker you would be more likely to be?

That's your vision for a great country?

Would you apply that to education too? Should we abandon the idea of a basic education for anyone regardless of their ability to pay,

and go to a system where one's education was directly proportionate to the wealth, or lack of it, of one's family?

That will make America better?

Sure they do. They did for many many years till government stuck it's fat head in the way.

1. No more state mandates, or allow purchase across state lines.
2. Total pricing transparency.
3. No government involvement SAVE REGULATORY for health insurance.
4. Tax credit for health care for employers removed or transferred to the individual.
5. A la carte style health insurance purchasing.
6. Total health insurance portability like car insurance.
7. Eliminate government restrictions to doctors on selling 'memberships' and end insurance company protectionism.

Do those seven points or even half of them and prices will plummet as market forces can come into full play. And look, government just has to enforce basic weights and measures, fraud and consumer protection like they always have with no added bureaucracies, agencies, interference in our lives, forms, red tape, unions or corporatism.

Much better ways of handling health care, and that's why the money spent over 70 years of Israel is STILL a better deal.

I'd rather have Israel be our ally in the middle east than domestic ingrates able to collect welfare longer because of free government care.

^^Republicans: always fighting for corporate welfare and welfare to Israel, but rag on the poor.

The GM bailout, Solyndra, and TARP were all Democrat operations. Democrats are the ones who dispense corporate welfare.

Yup, and you had a point in there somewhere?

Why do you support corporate welfare and handouts to Israel? Just because the Dems do....lol. You are just another partisan hack.

I don't support corporate welfare. I opposed TARP, the GM bailout and giving subsidies to "green energy" firms. Corporate welfare is mostly a Democrat thing. They give handouts to their favored toady corporations, and then they vilify "corporate welfare."

"Democrat" is a euphemism meaning "hypocrite."
