And (as for) those of your women who have despaired of menstruation, if you have a doubt, their prescribed time shall be three months, and of those too who have not had their courses; and (as for) the pregnant women, their prescribed time is that they lay down their burden; and whoever is careful of (his duty to) Allah He will make easy for him his affair.

Qur'an 65:4

Should that be understood to mean that the Koran says abortions up to 3 months are ok with Allah?

Cool!

being muslim would be cool, we could raid caravans and take all the booty and then we can take their women folk and do as we please since we possess them with our right hand....

cooler than lording over your wife and family like a mini czar and crying foul when someone doesn't want to be proselytized at? We can exchange koran quotes with Old testement quotes if you like...

Cool? ROFL

This verse has absolutely NOTHING to do with abortion. It refers to marrying and divorcing girls who haven't reached sexual maturity. So how cool is that?

Now why would you want to do that? Under some kind of impression they have comparable messages? The Old Testament simply details the Jews history and relationship with God and from that history was born Jesus, who came with a message for all which is laid out in the New Testament.

The two religions are not comparable because the messages in the scriptures of both have totally different aims. Before handpicking out any verses from the Koran or Hadith, you should know that many verses in the Koran are totally contradicted elsewhere. So in Islam, the verses that were written last are considered the valid verses. So don't toss out any of the earlier verses that are contradicted later in the Koran -because they are not considered to be valid any longer in light of what was written later. Muhammed started off hoping to sway Jews and Christians with the creation of a peaceful, inclusive religion. But he got hacked off when both still rejected Islam. His later writings were angry, bitter, frustrated, vicious and downright murderous.

Unlike the Bible, the Koran also specifically says that every single word AS WRITTEN, is the absolute truth, unalterable in any way and that no Muslim can cherrypick out, add or delete or change any part of it, no teaching that only part of the Koran is truth while refusing to teach the rest. It also says that anyone who has read the Koran and not converted to Islam can be killed as an unbeliever. Apparently anyone who has read it and hasn't had their eyes open to the "beauty and truth" of the Koran, is just plain evil and deserves to die.

The Bible's message is that what exists here on earth will pass and is only temporary. And that even though man is inherently sinful, eternal salvation is attainable and how to do that. The Koran is a gameplan for control and domination on earth itself. The Bible clearly shows that God wants people to have the time to choose to come to Him. The Koran says unbelievers should die. The Bible makes it clear that God knows what is in a person's heart and whether they truly love God. The Koran makes it clear that forced conversions are acceptable to Allah and no need for a person to voluntarily choose.

But if you really want to compare and contrast verses from the Bible and Koran, we could start with these:

Koran 009.005 When the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem of war.

Bible Psa 37:32 The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.

Koran 008.067 It is not fitting for a prophet that he should have prisoners of war [slay them first] until he hath thoroughly subdued the land.

Bible Zec 8:17 Let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.

Koran 033.061 They shall have a curse on them: whenever they are found, they shall be seized and slain without mercy.

Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

She's just looking for any reason to justify the selection of coat hangers she's so fond of.

You want them out of your collective uteruses, then close your collective thighs.

Lol. So we see how you really feel about those who were born less advantaged than yourself.

You're not hurting my feelings. I know you're an elitist and think there are certain "groups" of people who shouldn't have 1. Rights, 2. power, and 3. life.

Is that what it says? I was under the impression it set forth all the rules for all divorce under islamic law.

This particular verse is part of a larger section. The entire larger section is about going about divorcing a woman, when a divorced woman is an eligible marriage partner, when a man can re-marry his divorced wife and when a man may re-establish marital relations with a woman he once considered divorcing but did not.

This particular verse is taken from the part about the waiting time before a man may re-establish marital relations with particular kinds of women he considered divorcing. In the case of girls who have not reached sexual maturity ("those who have not had their courses" and older girls who are of age but still aren't menstruating yet ("those who have despaired of menstruation"), that waiting period is three months and after that, a husband may re-establish sexual relations with her. And for a pregnant woman, he has to wait until after she gives birth.

So technically, it isn't about marrying a girl who is not yet sexually mature. It is the procedure for returning to sexual relations with a girl who is not sexually mature that he already married. That makes it better for you?
