Is Tony Romo the most overrated QB in the NFL?

3.) Eli Manning: Needed great surroundings in order to win. Plax and the defense won him a super bowl. Lacks accuracy.

Wrong on that one.

If you watched all the playoff games that year, you wouldn't mention accuracy or that it was Burriss.

Add to it that Manning has never missed a game as a starter, has never failed to throw for at least 3,000 yards in a full season and has had at least 21 TDs every year he started.

Manning won a SB in his 4th year, he's already accomplished the ultimate accievment in the NFL, therefore cannot be 'over rated.'

He also has one of the best wining percentages in football.

That isn't 'over-rated.'

Over rated are guys that don't win the big games.
Manning dink-and-dunked his way through the playoffs in 2007. He passed for under 200 yds in the Giants first two playoff games. In the third playoff game in 2007, he had a 52.5 completion percentage, with no TD passes. In the Super Bowl, Manning had two touch downs, one interception, and some big plays by his receivers. The next season with out Plax, during a home game in the playoffs, Manning was 15-29 169 yds, 0 TD, 2 int's....

Manning has a 56.3 career completion percentage, with 113 TD's and 82 int's in 71 career starts.

Manning is a middle of the pack QB, who was surrounded by great talent, and a strong defense.

And don't give me that Super Bowl crap. Rex Grossman, Tony Eason, Stan Humphries, Neil O'Donell, Chris Chandler, Kerry Collins, Jake Delhomme, all made a Super Bowl. While Trent Dilfer, Doug Willaims, Jeff Hostetler, Jim McMahon, Eli Manning, and Brad Johnson, all won Super Bowls as a starting QB.
It looks like you are fishing, you just went from 'over rated' to middle of the pack.

Nobody rates him a top 5 QB, ergo he isn't 'over rated.'

As for Superbowls, did you happen to see what Ben rothlesburger's stats were in his first SB? He did much better his second time around.

Manning's big failing is he isn't his brother.

You're having a hard time understanding what "overrated" means....

Yes, I think Manning is a middle of the pack QB in the NFL. Hence, he's overrated, because he's rated by many as being much higher than a middle of the pack QB in the NFL. At the very least, most would say that Manning is easily a top 10 QB in the NFL.

Tony Romo is an ok quarterback. Type of fella its difficult to justify spending a 1st round draft choice to replace.

He's not a Montana, Marino, Elway or Favre type who will single handedly make sure your team never sucks.

In St. Louis we've seen Bulger and Warner recently. Two very good quarterbacks in the Dan Fouts mode. Great when the system is working, maybe they'll even get in the hall of fame if it works enough years, but they can't make OJ McDuffie catch 90 balls or get to the AFC Championship game with the remnants of Marcus Allen as your lead back and some guy named Willie Davis and your top receiver.

Marc Bulger, Kurt Warner, and Dan Fouts, are all very different QB's...

Marc Bulger would never be described as a "very good quarterback" at any point in his career. He's put up mediocre numbers in a very good Mike Martz system. It's mind-blowing why St. Louis has gone as long as they have with Bulger as their starting quarterback! He's a second-stringer at best!

Dan Fouts was an average at best quarterback, who played in an offensive system. Sure, he put up some yards. But look at his career numbers: Fouts has just 12 more touchdown passes than interceptions. On top of that, Fouts never won on the big stage. Dan Fouts SHOULD NOT be in the Hall Of Fame!

Kurt Warner came into St. Louis, and put up legendary numbers. Numbers most quarterbacks wouldn't put up, even in Mike Martz system. Warner led the Rams to two Super Bowls, winning one of them. Warner then went on the Arizona, where he's put up good numbers, and takrn the Arizona Cardinals, yes those Arizona Cardinals, to a Super Bowl! Warner will make the Hall Of Fame, but unlike Fouts, Warner will deserve it!

I do like you point on systems though. They can make a bad QB, look average(Bulger), an average QB, look good(Moon, Culpepper), and a slightly above average QB, look great(Young).
