I can't remember a single time the Dems ever cared about saving money.

We still have Depression Era programs that Dems would kill their Grandparents before even considering cutting back the funding.

Now, all of a sudden, when they want to nationalize the health care industry and start Euthanizing people they turn into Geico.

What the fuck is going on?

If I recall correctly, 1958 is the first year that Congress, not President Eisenhower, voted to remove funds from Social Security and put it into the General Fund for Congress to spend.

If I recall correctly, it was a democratically controlled Congress.

From what I understand, Congress' logic at that time was that there was so much money in Social Security Fund that it would never run out / be used up for the purpose it was intended / set aside for.

They are attempting to appear fiscally responsible which is a joke. The problem with their national health care is once you put millions on this plan you essentially create another welfare state and when you do that you are stuck for eternity paying, paying and paying more.
