Is there any issue at all Mitt has not flip flopped on?

No. Romney has pretty much switched positions on the most important issues.

Now here's why...

Romney curtails his stances to fit the demographic of the people he's speaking to. He's the worst kind of politician...one who can't stand behind his own beliefs. Unfortunately, Obama is no different. He's put us even further in debt than Bush ever could have managed... and he keeps saying we'll continue to improve over the next four years... right.

So, what do we do? Vote for the wishy washy old cat lady (Romney), or the self-righteous, socialist (Obama)? And yes, by his actions alone, Obama falls into the category of socialist. I dont know about you, but I think communism is bad.

This is why the Internet is good. Why some people continue to repeat bullshit when it's easy to find out the "truth", I'll never know.

For instance, when Obama became president, the yearly deficit was over 1.4 TRILLION dollars. It has gone down every year. This year it's only slightly above 1 TRILLION. Obama has reduced by almost a third. The only other president who has come even close to this is Bill Clinton. It was Reagan, Bush and Bush who inflated the deficit. Carter was about even.

Now, why is this important? If you suddenly slam the economy with a two trillion cut, you could cause a great depression or some other unforeseen circumstance. You have to undo the mess the Republicans caused carefully and gradually. It requires planning and above all THINKING. Remember, in Texas, Republicans want to outlaw "critical thought". It's in the Republican Party State Platform. That's why the Internet is so great. We can find these things out.

The only thing Romney has ever taken a stand on is revealing his tax evasion.

First off, the deficit is only a portion of the problem. Our economy wont stabilize until we start paying off our debts.

As of today we owe $16,198,174,452,215.24 That is the national debt. Now check this out...

Current: $16,198,174,452,215.24
2010: $13,178,317,356,215.73

$3 Trillion in two years...so where's the savings?

Before you go off on 2004-2010...remember that in 2003 we invaded Iraq per Bush's order. The debt doubled as a result. But Obama claimed we'd start paying off our national debt...but he's done nothing to stop it or even slow it down...in the last two years it's sped up.

Don't make assumptions. And when you use facts...include ALL the facts...not just one small piece of the pie.

Makes you wonder how confident the people voting for Romney are with his current positions. I mean, if he's so quick to switch his positions to curry favor, he's liable, if president, to totally fucking back out on all of his promises and go in the complete opposite direction. Way worse than Obama has.

He' for whatever you're for and against whatever you're against; no matter who you are.
I think that is why the right wing voters are collectively so bitter; they have to vote for this guy who shares none of their values or at least hasn't shared them this month anyway.

Numbers suggest more than just right wing voters.

Just throwing out numbers doesn't mean anything. Look at the trend. From over 1.4 trillion a year to just over 1 trillion. At that rate, we will approach a balanced budget in 8 or 9 years will a growing economy.

Republicans don't have any economic policies. The only time Reagan did anything good for the economy was when he raised taxes.

Republicans are a party that doesn't believe in education or science or study. That's what they keep telling us. I believe it. None of their economic policies have worked. They shift money, they don't grow business. They think smart people are "elitist". How do we know???? They tell us. When you don't even listen to the advice of "smart people", you will fail. Dumb people are dumb for a reason.

In fact, when I pointed out right here on the USMB that "demand" drives jobs, I was blasted for spouting "liberal" economic theories. Once Republicans call "demand" a "liberal economic theory", the debate is over. It's impossible to debate with the people Rick Santorum was referring to. Because of what he said.

He has not flip-flopped concerning how much of a dope he thinks Obama is. I agree with him.

So that's the only issue?

Is there anything he will cut spending on that he hasn't also said he won't cut spending on - other than public broadcasting and women's reproductive health - or does he plan to balance an entire budget just by cutting those two items?

That's the only issue that matters to the wing nuts.

We have Youtube. We can watch Romney in all his multiple positions. Simply search, "Romney fewer teachers" or "Romney abortion" or "Romney foreign policy" or "Romney 47%" and there it is in all it's glory. Come on people. What happened to you? Do you really want to buy a "lemon"?

I honestly don't think that Romney or Obama need to in office. Obama has proved his value in office...which suffice it to say is very little. He's taking credit for things that were put into motion in prior administrations, and he really doesn't care what people want.

One of my biggest issues with him is that he believes that wounded and disabled war veterans are UNAMERICAN for not wanting to have to pay for their own ailments directly linked to their military service. As a disabled Vet, I find that statement offensive, and treasonous. He also wanted to reduce survivor benefits for spouses and families of service members killed in action...how American is that?

Romney just spouts BS continually. Though I believe that the 47% issue was taken out of context, he's still too wishy washy. In my opinion he falls into the same "special" group as Bush...both should be wearing helmets. One of the last things we need in office is the backwards, Mormon-based, philosophies of a man who can't be honest.
