Is the electoral College Outdated?

Nobody would visit ND, MT, WY, SD, etc on the campaign trail

When's the last time a candidate visited one of those as part of the general election (not primary) campaign? The electoral college doesn't make Wyoming a more important or appealing state to visit for candidates than does a national popular vote.

Nope. In fact, if we want to preserve the Republic we need to not only keep that but revoke the 17th amendment.

It is anti-democratic and a bad example to Americans and the world. It is totally out dated. It is an inexcusable exception to the general rule of direct election with no perceptible advantages. There have, indeed, been historical incidents where is has been maliciously manipulated.
Since that goes against the grain of certain posters, I will no doubt be judged as some kind of Stalinist or Satan worshiper.
By the way, I am well aware of the technicality of republics and democracies. Again, this is like the arguments about socialism and capitalism; the pure definitions have little to do with life since they exist nowhere in the 'real' world. A mix is what exists, as it should. It is ridiculous to be simply doctrinaire.
