Al the folks in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam got tossed to the sharks after the end of the war. We took in a few, but not many as we should have.

There werne't that many of them. And we owed them big time.

Fast forward to now, and we are facing a tidal wave of illegal immigration we can't control.

Of course, it doesn't help that the US trashed the Mexican economy back in the mid 90's with the Tesebono scam. The dollar value of Mexican wages went down by 60% in the course of a month, and the US treasury and Goldman Sachs made out like bandits on the deal.

With wages in Mexico being 25% of the wages here, a rational parent will try to arbitrage his children's future by bringing them to a place they can do better. They are also bringing Mexican politics. Which is the reason Mexican wages are 25% of US wages.
