Is Racism motivating Joe Lieberman's Jihad against ObamaCare?

First he stands against his entire political party by standing with the US military and now it's his fear of the black man that motivating his stance against ObamaCare.

Why couldn't Lieberman support the Iraqi Insurgency like the rest of his Party? Why is he so racist as to stand against ObamaCare?

It should come as no surprise that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican. In that era, almost all black Americans were Republicans. Why? From its founding in 1854 as the anti-slavery party until today, the Republican Party has championed freedom and civil rights for blacks. And as one pundit so succinctly stated, the Democrat Party is as it always has been, the party of the four S's: slavery, secession, segregation and now socialism.

It was the Democrats who fought to keep blacks in slavery and passed the discriminatory Black Codes and Jim Crow laws. The Democrats started the Ku Klux Klan to lynch and terrorize blacks. The Democrats fought to prevent the passage of every civil rights law beginning with the civil rights laws of the 1860s, and continuing with the civil rights laws of the 1950s and 1960s.

During the civil rights era of the 1960s, Dr. King was fighting the Democrats who stood in the school house doors, turned skin-burning fire hoses on blacks and let loose vicious dogs. It was Republican President Dwight Eisenhower who pushed to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1957 and sent troops to Arkansas to desegregate schools. President Eisenhower also appointed Chief Justice Earl Warren to the U.S. Supreme Court, which resulted in the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education decision ending school segregation. Much is made of Democrat President Harry Truman's issuing an Executive Order in 1948 to desegregate the military. Not mentioned is the fact that it was Eisenhower who actually took action to effectively end segregation in the military.

I find it interesting when people toss around "conservative" and "republican" and then by using those words try to imply that somehow everyone who is associated with it is a racist. Perhaps a real "racist" can be any color, any ethnic group and is bascially a dirtbag no matter what political party they happen to belong too or what political ideals they happen to believe in. Joe Lieberman had he been a "republican" tool would have joined the "republican" caucus rather than the democratic one, and perhaps it's a matter of the Senator making a decision that is best for those he represents , there's an idea an actual Senator thats doing what they are supposed to do rather than put the party they belong to above the needs of those they represent.

Lieberman is against health reform because CT is he home of a huge number of insurance companies and he's gotten about a million dollars in campaign funds from that industry.

d'uh....

Actually he got 5 million. That is just disgusting. He is putting money over peoples lives.

There is no way he is going to go against his pimps. That whore.

I think I found Alan Grayson's sock puppet

Insightful retort.

I doubt it. Lieberman just loves being talked about. He's the most interesting person he knows..

Yeah because conservatives are racist right?

What an idiot. :cuckoo:

I agree that making blanket statements about any group of people is kind of stupid. that said, though, it's equally unfair to characterize liberals as terrorist-loving socialists. and just for the record, I'm not saying you personally have done this, since I have no idea, and this is my first day on this site.

I would like to know why it is selfish to not want Obamacare and more stimulus, when it will be a huge burden on the next generation? Attempting to pay for all these things at the risk of massive inflation otherwise, will be measured in a huge tax increase of middle America. Does responsibility figure into the equation? Or have we become the entitlement generation?

Yea he's "Racist",that just has to be it. Is it me or has anyone else noticed that the Hopey Changey Loons are becoming more & more desperate by the day? Weird stuff. Yikes!

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Doesn't everyone get favorable treatment from their mortgage company? Can you imagine if Dodd were a Republican or took money from Abramoff?

Democrats: defending their criminals with a vigor not seen since the Soviets retook Stalingrad

If Dodd were a Republican, the story would get complete ignored (see Ed Royce (R-CA) and how no one in the media mentioned all the cash he took from Countrywide).

Yeah the LMSM is famous for ignoring Republican scandals

They are. Eliot Spitzer was front page news for weeks. David Vitter did the same thing and it was barely mentioned.

If Lieberman were a racist, he sure is dancing around that and spending way too much time condeming the public option. I also note the inclusion of the word Jihad in the thread title. I imagine we are to view Mr. Lieberman as a terrorist as well? Including someone who caucuses with the Democrats in the terrorists label seems like an act of desperation. The enemies of Obama list must be quite long at this point. Less than a year in office. So sad.

I doubt it's racism- more likely it's fear of his wife, Hadassah.
Hadassah Lieberman - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hadassah has also worked for the lobbying company, APCO Associates, that had many pharmaceutical and healthcare corporations among its clients, as well as four major drug companies such as Pfizer. In March 2005, Hadassah was hired by Hill & Knowlton as "senior counselor" in the firm's "health care and pharmaceuticals practice." Hadassah's close relationship with pharmaceutical and healthcare corporations while her husband introduced legislation benefiting these exact companies has raised questions about improprieties and conflict of interest.[1]

It should come as no surprise that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican.

Uh, a small problem with this. He wasn't a republican, his father was.

First of all Zona, that quote comes from an article making that claim , I'm well aware that Dr. King's father was a life long Republican and I'm also aware that Dr. King after Kennedy got him out of a jam promised to deliver to the democrats a lot of votes. Dr. King also voted for Johnson. When asked about it Alveda King, like many others have said that Dr. King was not a republican or democrat.

“Martin Luther King Jr. was not a Republican or Democrat,” said Alveda King, who was previously elected to the Georgia House as a Democrat, but later appointed to state and federal commissions by Republicans. “But everybody uses Martin Luther King Jr.’s name for their own benefit.”

However the article is not incorrect in regards that Dr. King would be more of a Republican at the time rather than a Democrat. Afterall it was not Republicans in office in the South that made life so difficult for African American's and George Wallace was not a Republican, so it's plausable that Dr. King was more closely aligned to the Republican party than the democrats at the time, Kennedy excluded. The main focus of the previous post was to point out that "racists" can exist in any party and to call all republicans racists is not only ignorant it shows a basic lack of knowledge of history.
