Our founding fathers interpretation might be a good place to start. Watch out for SEMANTICS, also known as 'doublespeak'. A defense attorney to this day can be prosecuted by the court he/she is litigating in on a clients behalf, 'IF' the court deems that said attorney is attempting to change the KNOWN INTENT of a law in a fraudulent way. Most multiple definitions of Constitutional law have been proved to be nothing more than politically motivated semantics. A good 1st step is to elect Constitutionally based REPRESENTATIVES of & for the people! We ALL need that protection to safeguard us against politically motivated predators.

Once again by whos' modern interpretation of the founders intent? The right, left or Libertarian, all of whom think their idea is the one and only, true view? Unfortunately most of these claimants have never read, let alone even heard of the Federalist Papers nor even considered the fact the founders wrote multiple letters and engaged in multiple debates concerning their intent and where such intent was made very plain.

People are blinded by partisanship. You know that you are too partisan when your loyalty to your political party takes precedence over your loyalty to your country. In his farewell address, George Washington (who is considered the father of our country) advised against political parties. The rest of our so-called "founding fathers" had no hesitation to choosing sides.

What is polarizing is a steadfast refusal to listen and learn from what others have to tell you. Also just saying the other guys are by definition the cause of the problem does not move us forward either.

People have different needs and different perspectives and everyone pretty much agrees that what is good for me is good for America. What is good for me, of course, changes from person to person.

And when it comes to any problem that you recognize as a problem, resolution comes from leadership. Which means if you see it as a problem, you take care to deal with it yourself first. If you see polarization as a problem, then it is important that you make a very big effort to listen to the other side.
