"Mr. Ryan showed his conservative mettle in 2008 when he folded like a lawn chair on the auto bailout and the Wall Street bailout. But the greater hypocrisy is his phony “plan” to solve the entitlements mess by deferring changes to social insurance by at least a decade."

"The Ryan Plan boils down to a fetish for cutting the top marginal income-tax rate for “job creators” — i.e. the superwealthy — to 25 percent and paying for it with an as-yet-undisclosed plan to broaden the tax base. Of the $1 trillion in so-called tax expenditures that the plan would attack, the vast majority would come from slashing popular tax breaks for employer-provided health insurance, mortgage interest, 401(k) accounts, state and local taxes, charitable giving and the like, not to mention low rates on capital gains and dividends. The crony capitalists of K Street already own more than enough Republican votes to stop that train before it leaves the station."

"In short, Mr. Ryan’s plan is devoid of credible math or hard policy choices. And it couldn’t pass even if Republicans were to take the presidency and both houses of Congress. Mr. Romney and Mr. Ryan have no plan to take on Wall Street, the Fed, the military-industrial complex, social insurance or the nation’s fiscal calamity and no plan to revive capitalist prosperity — just empty sermons.'

How else do you pay for wiping out the Capital Gains tax entirely. Meaning that the unemployed Governor who is his running mate would pay basically zero taxes under the Ryan plan.

No wonder he picked him.

I'm glad SOMEBODY is paying attention!

Obama's commie care program was the biggest tax increase on the middle class in history.........

Should we talk about energy and food prices now ??? lol

He did say he would lower taxes and close loopholes.

Based on what he is proposing to cut (close loopholes), WHO is getting a tax break under the Romney/Ryan budget plan?

Everyone, except for the very poor who don't pay federal income taxes in the first place. GE made billions, but paid no taxes at all. They were able to take advantage of loopholes that are unavailable to working people. Close those loopholes, lower taxes, and create more revenue. One of the major mistakes average people make is to confuse taxes with revenue when they are not at all similar.

I thought that ryan is all about tax cuts. The middle class should also receive those big cuts. Nobody can justify their taxes going up while others go down. No wonder romney is coming up with his own budget.

I mean...eliminating the Cap Gains tax is going to wreck the deficit and that monye has to come from somewhere.

For all of the talk about the Senate voting down the Obama Budget, the Ryan budget lost too and 5 GOP members voted against it as well. THAT is how bad the budget was!

One was Rand Paul; in fact.

As soon as you can prove your hypothesis with some facts and numbers, sure! At least we KNOW Romney/Ryan are promising to take away middle class tax breaks in order to cut taxes on the wealthi....err, job creators BEFORE the election.

Since I (personally) will lose tax exemptions for 401(K), mortgage insurance, employer provided health insurance, charitable donations and state/local/city taxes, please explain how I am going to see my taxes lowered?
